Description

Beefed up the third line with a former all star in Duclair, Kerfoot, and Souperman.
Simmonds is being played with Matthews and Marner as a sort of 'McSorely' type player. This way, Matthews and Marner have some sort of protection in case of Tom Wilson and Brad Marchand. If Simmonds doesnt fit well, play him on the fourth line.

Defence is significantly improved with the addition of Brett Pesce. Stecher is also added to play with Mikko Lehtonen or Jake muzzin.
Leafs have room for a 24-man roster.

Sharks have no use for Johnsson or Engvall anymore. We already got Donato. Possibility of getting Johnsson now is off the table plus we aren't paying this much.

Leafs pass on the Carolina one. Maybe if the Canes add a young player like Bean or Geekie the leafs consider it. Nylander for Pesce is not a fair trade though.

They didn't want to risk the arbitration so they decided to just let him go apparently.

I think this is what it would take to get Pesce from Canes. Honestly, still not sure Canes would do this because of the value of Pesce to the blueline and his affordable contract.
