You’re exaggerating lol. Just cause those players aren’t worth anything doesnt mean the Leafs need to or are going to pay valuable assets to offload them

I think the idea with a lot of leafs fans ACGM moves, at least with mine anyway, is just tinkering with the cap to fit under it. Obviously I don’t think two contending teams are gonna swap RHD’s but I’m just avoiding making 5 different trades

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>justaBoss</b></div><div>No one is taking Ritchie, but he could be added to the PHI trade as a cap dump. That does mean that Leafs must offer some real quality pieces. I'm thinking Ritchie+Robertson+Niemelä+1st for half retained Giroux, and then a third rounder to a third team who would retain the remaining half of his contract. He'd cost a little over $2M, which is something they could afford.</div></div>
I don’t think they need to trade essentially three first round picks for a rental

Optimistic fun deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>QualityTrades1</b></div><div>Lots of shots fired lol.
Replace the 2nd with a 1st and Vancouver probably accepts. Robertson is great but size is an issue until he bulks up more, and Mikheyev is a UFA next year so that's basically a wash.
Robertson, a 1st, and a 3rd is a good package for a PPG player under contract for another year who plays top-minutes on the LW (something the Leafs desperately need)</div></div>
Well said. What about replacing Robertson with a first as opposed to replacing the second?

Trading AJ
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>exo2769</b></div><div>I'm going to take just a second to let you understand how Hawks fans feel about AJ. He's 100% worse than Connolly. Just because NJD gave up an asset for him doesn't mean he's worth $1M. He's a very bad hockey player. VERY BAD. When he was with TOR he got to play with Matthews AND Nylander. He was literally the 2nd most propped up player in the entire NHL behind Kassian. Connolly may not be a good player. I get that, BUT he's definitely better than AJ and have a better buyout. At least send us a 2nd round pick for that bag of pucks that you're just realizing is a bag of pucks.

Trading two depth forwards and a pick for another depth forward isn’t lopsided by any means. You can have preference on who you like better but that doesn’t make it lopsided lol

If another 1st round loss
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AntreDiAnaheim</b></div><div>That’s not the point. The point is that 2022 pick has a very good chance of being Shane Wright, Max Comtois is a big player for us and could break out this season, and Terry was practically our best winger last year ( analytically was the best on the roster )
It’s not we hate Marner or that Marner isn’t good, it’s that the package the Ducks give up hold much more value for them than Marner does.</div></div>
That’s a fair point then I guess. The general consensus on here is usually different then that, but that makes sense

People on here say he’s worthless but Kerfoot isn’t a cap dump. If you don’t get anything back to trade him just keep him. And if it’s a scenario like this where Nashville doesn’t wanna take back too much money I’d just trade him somewhere else and flip those assets to Nashville

Dealing And Wheeling
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dru34</b></div><div>Be honest, even if everything goes perfect and the game 1 roster is actually this; Is this really the hill you want Dubas/Shanny to die on?
Returning to the Atlantic Division means playing Sens/Habs that they struggled with already in the easiest division they'll never see again, And also playing Tampa, Boston, Florida who without much debate being needed we can all agree have much better/deeper rosters and should be safe 1-2-3 finishes in the Atlantic Division. So the Leafs have to fight for 4th in their own division.
But with the returning to normal divisions this also means that 5 teams can make the playoffs from the Metro division, and they have 6 teams near the same level as Tampa, Boston, Florida and it should actually be a really serious concern to the Atlantic Division that 5 teams from the Metro are easily capable of claiming playoff positions.
So Leafs best strategy is to add enough value onto the team to contest for 2nd/3rd in their own division to guarantee themselves a playoff position, and while I'm not knocking your personal choices here as you did a great job adding haula, bunting, bertuzzi who would be fun players to watch as Leafs, Its still not enough quality and or depth to compete in a full 82 game season where players are guaranteed to always get hurt but especially will playing Tampa, Boston, Florida 8x each. and all the other top teams in the league 2x.
Kerf is great but not a long term 2nd liner just for 1 point. Putting Robertson on the 2nd line is a wild card play that could pay off but unlikely across a full 82 game season.
to be blunt I guess I just think this roster misses the play offs by a lot.</div></div>
Can you help me write my thesis
