Trades with CBJ NYI MTL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HockeyOwl14</b></div><div>How about a draft pick? Would a 2nd rounder cut it?</div></div>
no. like whenever u wanna cap dump a player, u gotta give a good asset. last season jets cap dumped mason to the habs, but also gave a 4th rd pick, joel armia whose a real solid 3rd line guy and pk guy for simon bourque (who retied from pro hockey at the age of 23) . as soon as mason came, mtl bought him out, and its only 1.6mill for this season and next season. hanzal is on a longer term contract. he also has health issues. i read an article on the athletic a few days back, that right now, hanzals biggest fear is that he might not play hockey again. he has the same injury as zetterberg did last season, and Z had to retire. so theres always that risk factor.

DAL doesn’t need Jordie back. No need for him. I like the other 2 trades but idk if Columbus would do it when they’re asking for the moon. I think they’re both fair tho!

I have to say the Johnson trade could be a horrific trade for the Isles. Johnson is a decent player but think of this scenario. What if (and it is not out of the realm of possibility): The Jackets traded Johnson to NYI and both the Jackets and the Isles make the playoffs. They could matchup in the 2nd round. If the Jackets beat the Isles in the second round, then essentially all you did was trade the Jackets your 1st round pick just to get beaten by the team you traded with. The reason this is significant is because Tavares is not signed for next year. And I don’t think it is a secret that the Jackets will be players for Tavares should he hit FA. Could you imagine losing your teams 1st round pick, then losing to that team in the Playoffs, and then losing your star player to that same team. Remember this is a very possible scenario. Plus, you never addressed NYI’s biggest need which is goaltending.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KSIxSKULLS</b></div><div>Galchenyuk is worth two 25-30 overall picks. He was a 3rd overall pick (He was injured for the entire season his draft year) for a reason. He is the real deal and if he had a better all around team like LA, he would thrive</div></div>
He was drafted 6 years ago, so his draft number means nothing. Carolina defenseman Jaccob Slavin was drafted at the 4th round, 120th overall, in that draft, and he is currently more valuable than Galchenyuk. It's impossible to say whether he'd be better in LA or not.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JT_Miller</b></div><div>Instead of Lindberg and Reinhardt who has almost no value at this point (imo) try adding Brannstrom</div></div>
Problem is that if he puts Brannstrom, Suzuki and 1st rounder to that trade, it's same as putting 3 first-rounders in that trade because Suzuki and Brannstrom were both drafted at the first round last year. Don't think it is smart to give all the future assets for one guaranteed year of McDonagh, even if he is a good player.

I love the draft picks and the Kane trade (probably more than we will get). I do not want to trade Reinhart nor McCabe both are young and have good upside. But over all 2 but thumbs up and 5 stars.
