There's 6 centers on the roster, how is that not enough depth down the middle?

Brodie is a key piece for the Leafs.
The ducks need a little patience to let their young players develop.

Nope, and you forgot about Lukas Dostal. But it's a step in the right direction, especially the signing of Damon Severson. However, I'm not sold on the idea of signing 34-year-old Alex Killorn to a four-season deal.

Switch Kinkaid for Merzlikins and it’s a lot closer. Also your lines are way messed up. You also forgot to resign Robinson who should be on the team

Better do something this season cause that team won't contend next year.
You're also overpaying Ennis by a lot. At most it'll be closer to $1M. But I can see him staying in Toronto on a cheap deal. He signed there for their medical staff, that'll be tough to beat

Thanks for posting this. Was wondering what this roster/cap situation looked like without Panarin, Bobrovsky, and Duchene.
Hard to believe there's only about $6M available without those contracts.
I would expect Werenski to come in lower than $8M though and Murray below $5M (at this point). In theory, Jarmo could work things on shorter terms to free up enough cap to sign Bobrovsky for $9M AAV.
Will all depend on how deep this team goes in playoffs to decide who they focus on keeping/targeting.

He's their best player, he's young, and they have control over him for a long time. He's also on the way to becoming the face of the franchise. I agree with trading Droin though. Fans not happy with his play and neither are his team</div></div>
Yeah no way that package get you near Keller . Trade Drouin for future ! Sign a decent player on UFA market . Ex, Duchene , Nyqvist , Karlsson , Ferland or other . I would trade Drouin to the Oilers or the Rangers 2 team that seem in need of offense,

For the people saying Marleau is staying in the lineup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>The reality is that that Leafs just might have to cut bait with Nylander. Leafs need cap space. Nylander has been awful this season. Now I think he is a lot better player than this year results. Thinking the offer presented is too high, due to 7m cap hit, though it is just a 4.9m per year cash outlay.
Woo and a 2nd might be the maximum return.
Sparks isn't getting that in return in a trade. Sparks can be retained and even he is sent to the minors next season he doesn't affect the cap. Leafs might have to the that TVR trade as a short term solution at RHD.</div></div>
Woo + 2nd might be the maximum return ........... LOL.
<strong>Before the Leafs are "forced" to trade Nylander they will:</strong>
1. Not sign Gardiner = $6,000,000 saved.
2. Not sign Hainsey = $2,000,000 saved.
3. Not sign Ennis = $1,500,000 saved.
4. Trade Zaitsev = $4,500,000 saved (will cost picks + prospects though).
5. Trade Brown = $2,100,000 saved.
6. Trade Hyman = $2,250,000 saved.
7. Trade Muzzin = $4,000,000 saved.
8. Trade Kadri = $4,500,000 saved.
9. Trade Kapanen = $3,000,000 saved.
9. Ask Marleau to accept a trade + buyout so he can re-sign in Toronto (see Brooks Orpik).
If all of this fails they <strong>might </strong>trade Nylander.

Horton's contract don't need to be moved. He can be put to LTIR, thus he has no effect on the salary cap. What is hard to move is Marleau. He has a NMC on his contract and he has no reason to waive it.
NSH is not moving Ekholm. He's very solid D, close to TOP10 in left-handed D-men on this league. Much more valuable than a middle-6 C, that's the role Kadri would play in NSH.
I'm also pretty sure that BUF would keep Sobotka for one year more rather than take 5 years of Zaitsev.
Also Hoffman is not worth that much. Besides, TOR can't afford to take him, otherwise they can't afford re-signing Kapanen and Marner.

Just a guess but I'm pretty sure Habs fans are looking for a LHD and they'd have little use for Larsson since Weber and Petry are both RHD.

Jokiharju will be on the team. Boqvist likely to stay in junior one more season (even though I personally disagree with it) and I look for the hawks to be big spenders. Tanev doesn't make much sense as the hawks have tons of third and fourth liners.
