Take out Johansson and make it Alex Lyon and the Leafs accept. Betting Tavares wouldn't though.

If we know we can't keep Bertuzzi and Domi, then keep him.

I love Robertson, but there are two reasons:
1) He doesn't get enough ice time in TOR and isn't happy here.
2) He's too small and injury-prone for the direction the team is headed for under Treliving.

Big Leafs Trade and Chychrun to Wash
Chychrun is worth more than that and there's no way a late 1st is worth giving up Liljegren's RFA rights and Jarnkrok.

Leafs pass. We need top 4 RD. Not more depth guys. Especially when the price is two draft picks.

Liljegren is better than "spare parts". He's a young, good two-way defenseman. I should've changed the 2024 7th to a 2024 5th, but still. I think Liljegren for Savard is fair.

Leafs fleece tbh.
Would miss Jarnkrok and the 1st, but for Miller, this is a no-brainer. NYR never makes this offer, though.

Trade Deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TMLBRIAN</b></div><div>That's a sizeable overpay.
Remove Robertson. Remove Laggesson. Remove the 3rd.
Add a 3rd coming back to Toronto.
And then I accept.
1st for Tanev is possible though. But I wouldn't pay that if I were the Leafs (without another piece coming back).
Robertson is having a strong year, while only playing 10 and a half minutes a game. We shouldn't just use him as a throw in in a trade. If we trade him, he should be a main piece of value.</div></div>
I think you're underestimating Tanev's value, especially to the Leafs, who tend to have to pay a premium compared to other teams in trades.
I also think you're overestimating Robertson's value. He's a promising young player with a lot of puck-handling skill and a good shot, but he's just too small. Trading for him is asking for trouble, especially as a team that just suffered several disastrous trades and signings and is trying to avoid a decade-long rebuild.

I'd agree, but with Pesce, you get someone much younger and $1M cheaper. Sure, he's a rental, but we only have Brodie for 1 more year. If we play our cards right, Pesce could resign and be a long-term partner for Rielly.
I love Brodie, but he's too expensive for us, and we're over the cap right now. Someone has to leave.

Hear me out
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gretzkyghosts</b></div><div>Buffalo is in a win now mode nearly as much as the Leafs.
But, Casey could be available if one of their prospects is ready to step in or if they could sign a UAF forward to step into the Sabres line up.
While Casey had a career season he was OK the previous two seasons with 41 pts over a 81 game stretch.
Unfortunately Lafferty, Robertson, and a third are not equal to Casey.
<strong>Lafferty</strong> would not break into the line up even after Casey was removed.
Buffalo does not need to add another forward prospect as <strong>Robertson</strong>.
He has decent AHL production but has not demonstrated NHL skills thus far.
For example Jack Quinn is the same age yet has already established himself.
Niemela and a third would be nice additions, in reality Buffalo would prefer Niemela and an asset equal to Lafferty, Robertson and two thirds.
Instead of 5 pieces, just two.</div></div>
Respectfully, I'll be taking this hypothetical offer to another team because we don't have what you want.
I also wouldn't say Buffalo is in win-now mode as much as the Leafs. Their window is just starting. Leafs have 1 year left with two of the core, and 2 years left with the other 2. Half of the Sabres stars are still signed through the 2026-27 season, and have a lot more cap space available for when the others need to resign.

True, but I feel like having to babysit Klingberg might make him feel more responsible defensively.
