Minnesota Wild signed Marcus Foligno (3 Years / $3,100,000 AAV)
Not a fan of this contract. It's not awful, but it's not good and definitely isn't going to help the Wild who already have a plethora of overpaid contracts.

Pittsburgh Penguins signed John Marino (6 Years / $4,400,000 AAV)
Bit risky doing this a year early, but Marino is a very good young dman and this is a good contract for them.
Well done JR. You've had a rough off season but this is a legitimately good move.

Boston Bruins signed Jake DeBrusk (2 Years / $3,675,000 AAV)

Quoting: ZiggyPalffy

I'd say you're the 2nd biggest know-it-all on here after that one Red Wings fan that no one likes.
Hopefully you learned a lesson about how unpredictable contract signings can be. You were incredibly wrong about DeBrusk and Grz. How many times did you comment on my Bruins ACGMs about me signing those guys around 3.75? Even after I had to explain to you that Bruins players usually take team friendly deals... All the more reason to take your comments with a grain of salt.

Latest Bruins ACGM: https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/342698
You signed DeBrusk for 5 years at $3.75M.
You signed Grzelcyk for 5 years at $3M.
I said "Not enough money for that term for both DeBrusk and Grzelcyk. "
DeBrusk got $3.675M for 2 years. That's for TWO years. That's $75K difference from what you got but you had 3 more years. He would definitely get more than $3.75M for FIVE years.
Grzelcyk got $3.687.5M for 4 years. You had him for $687.5K less with one more year.
So in both cases, I was right, they would have gotten more for 5Y since they already got this.
Another ACGM: https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/1778582
I said "DeBrusk would get more $ on a five-year deal, same for Grzelcyk I believe."
Same deal for DeBrusk.
You had $3.5M for 5 years this time for Grzelcyk so $500K more than the other ACGM, same term.
He got $3.687.5M for 4 years. You had him for $187.5K less for one more year. He would have gotten more for that year.
Next ACGM: https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/321610
I said "Not enough for Grzelcyk and for DeBrusk."
You signed DeBrusk for 5 years at $4M cap hit and Grzelcyk for 4 years at $3.75M.
The Grzelcyk one was close indeed. DeBrusk, he signed for $325K less for 3 years less. He would have gotten more than $4M for 5 years.
I didn't say anything on this one about Grzelcyk/DeBrusk https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/321129
Didn't comment on this one https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/320062
You were close sometimes for the $ but it all depends on the term. A player signing for 2-3 years isn't getting the same money on a 5-6Y deal. So no " Hopefully you learned a lesson about how unpredictable contract signings can be. You were incredibly wrong about DeBrusk and Grz. " I didn't learn a lesson or was wrong.

the way we can be finalists every year
Ryan isn’t enough of an upgrade over PEB to make that move imo, and would MUCH rather have Francouz than Mrazek

Francouz is worth more than that and I'd rather have him over Mrazek

He doesn't exactly have much leverage as he doesn't have any arbitration rights. He'd probably be wise to try to push for a 2 year deal though to guarantee that he can stay in the league, as there's going to be a lot of good players taking very cheap deals this offseason and next.

I think he'll sign for 2 years around $1.25-1.5M. He knows he's got to prove he belongs on this team.
