Islanders need to add to the defense. Honestly if a package of a 1st + prospect(s) not named Bellows for Petry, the Islanders should be interested. We need Pulock like the Habs need Mete and Weber. He is the future of this D as we don't have a lot. Cizikas and Clutter are fine contracts. Fans over react too much.

Islanders pass. Pulock is better than Bogo and McCabe and Lehner isn't that much of an upgrade over what we had last year. Risto should be the only player the Islanders should be interested in but he isn't going any where.

Why the value might be there, using our those assets to get the to 3 isn't a good use. Would rather have a package of starting with Petry, Weber or Mete. We need guys that can impact now if we are flipping the picks.

2 super stars in 10 plus years. Lots of decent middle 6ers and 2 line paring dmen, The hype around Farabee being a top liner is too much. There is a reason lots the US players opt for the OHL or Europe. The development is way better in those leagues.

Galchenyuk had 50 points playing on a terrible team. Beau only came alive playing with Barzal. A 1 for 1 trade heavily favors the Islanders.

Interesting. Hard to say no from the Islanders stand point. Maybe a lottery or top 10 protection for 2019.
The trade 100% depends in if the islanders can get a goalie.

Islanders aren't trading their 1sts if JT is leaving. And then if 1/2 the assets going to the Blue Jackets are the Islanders, they should go and try to get him themselves.

Attitude problems are a myth. Dude makes on snarky (but very true) comment about his demotion after the season ends and he has an "attitude problem". He took his demotion in stride. Him and Dal Colle eat crow in the minors because they don't play physical.
Why I believe the value is low, Ho Sang is the perfect buy-low person for a team, that if they let him play his game will be a great addition.

But they don't. None of these player acquired bump any one out of the Top 6 or our Top 4 defenseman (if de Haan stays). It is questionable if Duclair even could crack the Top 9.

Forsling is younger with a much higher ceiling than Pelech. Murphy is a good stay at home D man that won't get injured like Boychuk. Duclair is a nice fast winger to compliment Barzal.</div></div>
It is the quantity vs quality debate. Islanders don't need a bunch of nice but low level impact players. The value of a lottery pick should be used to add a Top pairing defensemen or a goalie.

Please Stop Trading Hossa
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>That's not true. The Hawks have been the #1 revenue generating team in the league. Last 9 seasons the most attendance and ticket sales by a country mile over any other team....sold out every game above capacity. Merchandising is in the top 3 in the league. The Hawks are not in cap trouble at all and the owners every year will spend all the way to the cap. I agree they need to leave a couple million under this season to sign Schamtlz, Debrincatt and Sikura next year and the following but that's all as the cap will go up again to $82M next year and again the following year. Hawks are not in a bad cap spot.</div></div>
Hossa cap hit counts towards the cap on Day 1, at least if they want all 5 million to be recaptured. Revenue has nothing to do with it. The fact is, even though they have an 80 million dollar cap. It is more like 75 cause of Hossa.

Again, the Hawks need to break camp every year for the next THREE years at least 5 million dollars under the cap. For a team that is already close to the cap, they need all the room they can get. His contract is not an asset.

So in this scenario Carlson signs with the Caps and then they ship off to another team. If that happens, I highly doubt any FA will ever sign with the Caps again.

Uhhh. The rights to Carlson aren't worth the second best dman on the team. Pulock for Grub has the base for a trade.
Sign and trades assume the player is going anyway and you get picks and prospects + expiring contracts to make the money work. No team is going to gives assets for a guy they can just sign.

Only one goalie under contract. If he gets hurt the whole season is over. Even with that defense couldn't turn a goalie like Ullmark into a winning one. Have fun drafting 1st overall again.

TSN is smoking some high quality stuff. 5th best offense in the league doesn't need more offense. We need defense as we were the worst defense. While Nyquist would be nice, I would rather bank on Nelson bouncing back on a contract year.

5 stars. The trade leads for a really good debate. Habs probably on do this if Kotkaniemi is there. Do the Islanders make this trade if Kotkaniemi is there? Do they want him too?
