Exactly, we can likely get a 2nd and maybe slightly more if Janmark keeps it up from another team.

He's no joke. Also, no other Blackhawk has drawn more penalties than Hagel. He's had pretty bad puck luck this year, but his effort level is always amazing.

Pass. Hawks have actual cap space that could allow a big splash in free agency.

Do we make a playoff run
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JackBurton</b></div><div>In my opinion...
You don't trade that 1st away under ANY circumstances. Nothing out there available is worth the gamble if things go tits up, not Kap, and not even Ekholm as a rental (despite this team needing D).
Even if Dach is back for them, he isn't enough. One Kirby isn't going to right the ship and make it worth the "all in" play. Now, if 19 comes back and is in great shape, different story, but that would seem to be a stretch under the best of circumstances now. When your top 3 centers are out, and you get destroyed at the dot consistently, there is literally no argument I'd buy for giving up to compete.</div></div>
See my response above. Bottom line, if we have a #15 pick in this 2021 draft, it should be looked at to trade it to get someone like Kap that will be a long term asset to the team, not for a rental but someone long term and our RW is a bit weak and speed is something we are continuing to go after so all day long I'd move our 2021 1st for Kap.

Addressing needs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JackBurton</b></div><div>If there is one thing that Bowman absolutely, unequivocally excels at... It is doubling down on a stupid move. David Rundblad anyone? Saad pissed away for Zads after taking the wash on Panarin? And acting like it was both necessary and a good idea at the time? Bowman's idea generator is his own worst enemy...
Agents chat a lot of **** because that's the job. For most of the season, Zads has been really bad. But he's been having his best games in the sweater lately, so the question is was he just taking some time to get up to Jeremy's system, or is he going to revert back to slow, out of position, and kinda dumb. If he continues to improve, and takes the longer "Connor Murphy" road to stability, I'm fine with giving him a long term contract for a decent raise. But if he wants more than 5.5/year, he can pound sand.</div></div>
Yeah and it’s always risky to keep these players and even trade for them in this case. Obviously it doesn’t sound great for me giving up Pete and a pick for someone who may be a wash but it’s all a crapshoot which is why this website can be crazy at times. If anything I’d love to ship Matheson over instead of Pettersson and pray that Bowman falls I love with him

Addressing needs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JackBurton</b></div><div>"We're all just garbage" is my favorite ending to an armchair GM post ever.
I think your issue with the LA trade is the man, not the team. The kings front office would be all about it, despite the extra PR legwork involved. The problem is Brownie, he wants to stay in that sweater until he dies. And he'd use his clauses to do so. Is there a chance he might be motivated to go to PIT for one last hurrah? Yeah, but PIT would have to trade every drop of futures away to make a monster competitor that would move the needle for Brownie. Just don't see it.
The problem with the Chicago trade is Bowman himself, not the returning value you've given here. He seems quite proud of himself for that **** awful trade, and even if he wasn't, the optics on tossing away Saad for him will ensure that Zads stays in town.</div></div>
Unfortunately for me, you’re right in everything you said lol. I had the idea of trading for Brown at the start of the year before he popped off so that doesn’t help his value for other teams haha. I can imagine he wants to and may deserve to retire In LA but I hope we could drink the juice and fall in love with the idea of another cup run, whether it’s realistic with this team or not.
In regards to Bowman, it’s funny because I was reading today about Zadorov to do some research before this and it’s been pointed out that historically Bowman doesn’t move guys he trades for so quick because he loves them no matter why. However with Zadorov being a pending free agent and rumors of his agent maybe wanting a significant raise, I’d hope he’d consider it. Thanks for the comment and discussion!

Even if Dach was back, don’t go in until Toews is back.
The hawks can hustle and grind through tough games. Which is improvement from last year but still not enough to be buying with our top two Cs sitting out

CHI Deadline Idea
Hawks pass on this. At least I would, Zadorov and Wallmark are two young RFA's and Bowman has emphasized getting younger. The hawks have no need for Ceci and a subpar prospect. That being said, Bowman traded Panarin for Saad for Zadorov so, who knows, he might like this.

This past season...
Crawford .917
Anderson .909
Crawford was injured the two seasons prior which is why he didn't play as much.
Crawford is a way better big game goalie coming up huge for the Hawks especially in the cup years with them and also in the playoffs as evidence by this year yet again.
Bottom line, why would we want a 1 year rental of Anderson when we can get Crawford for 1 or 2 years cheaper and not give up any assets? The answer; we wouldn't but so many Leafs fans on here ignore the other team's situation and only say to themselves "Chicago doesn't have a goalie so let's move Anderson to them" instead of going a layer or two deeper

Trash D core? Are you serious?
Brodin was statistically the best shutdown defenceman in the league this season. His scoring chance prevention and offensive zone time prevention were at the top of the league. Toews is also very good, he ranked top 10 amongst defensemen in scoring chances generated and top 15 in scoring chances prevented. Both are easily top 10 LHDs currently.

Boqvist was decent as a rookie this season & he has elite potential. Mitchell has played tremendously in college & looks to become a solid top 4 D. Alongside excellent & responsible partners like Brodin & Toews, they should develop very well.
I suggest getting a clue before coming here to spit out nonsencial ignorant takes.
