Philadelphia Flyers signed Ivan Fedotov (2 Years / $3,275,000 AAV)
Let them vote no without understanding the situation. It was the only way to get him over here and in case people forgot, we were left in a pretty precarious situation at goaltender because of another guy that shall not be named.
Also not about to stat bomb his 3 "games" in the NHL. One of the weirder situations for any player to go through let alone a goalie. And to just be thrown into the NHL for a team trying to get into the playoffs that was a tremendous amount of pressure, couldn't have felt too comfortable.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>A_Habs_fan</b></div><div>He's played 3 NHL games and has a .811 in them, what???</div></div>
From Anthony DiMarco :
<em>I know the Fedotov AAV is higher than expected, but the contract was agreed upon prior to the player coming over from Russia.
I'm told that the contract had to be a certain number to get Fedotov to come to North America.
Not ideal, but understandable given the circumstances.</em>

Only 1 for 1 deals
Pens are much better just keeping 5m Smith for one season that having 9m Skinner for three years.

Jarry plus
I'm not parting with Jarry for just a 3rd pairing defenseman. I know that idea was based on another ACGM, but none of its other ideas are particularly great IMO.

Watch people go crazy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JuanDamienNebraska</b></div><div>You typed all of that about something that you know has a 0% chance of happening?
A.) Let’s show some class and level headed patience to Dubas who has been employed for one season, and was tasked with the hell that was cleaning up Hextall’s complete mess. He’s done fine when taking into account said Hextall mess, and the new ownerships’ desire to remain competitive with Crosby, Malkin, and Letang.
B.) If im not mistaken, Torts is still under term at $4 million per year, and has certainly not coached his way to a Philly firing. They would not let him go. Also, I find it amusing that your sighting Torts’ willingness to play young players by referencing his willingness to give minutes to perennial top picks Dubois, and Werenski. Very bold of him to play those high picks. Injury riddled Poulin is surely on par with those two!
C.) This week Carle stated that he has every desire to remain Denver’s head coach, sighting that he and his young family love it there and that he does not want to uproot them for an NHL job, where the turnover rate is very high.
This isn’t NHL 24 GM mode. We hired Dubas and thrusted a daunting task upon him, as well as a desired path by ownership to attempt to remain competitive while also restocking young assets. Not easy to do. Here’s a rational idea, at least give him 1 summer without the Hextall shackles before we come out and say that we’d rather hire Torts, with no experience in that role, as GM!</div></div>
Amen.

I think Dubas has been fine given the impossible task of:
Give the team a chance while collecting assets

exactly. Eller is overperforming his contract and 2m for Accaris shotblocks and Pk is reasonable. Saad is a problem contract for the next 2 years.
PIT declines Eller+Accari for Saad straight up let alone with the picks attached lmao

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>xercuses</b></div><div>Sorry 20 goals! But my bad I misinterpreted but I do think the point is moot since Saad is the best player in the deal</div></div>
Not by much, so the point stands that the pens probably wouldn’t trade Eller for Saad straight up due to cap hits, much less add everything else you have in here.

Random thought
This is a prime example of the mismatch between fan interests in a sports organization and ownership interest in profitability. FSG isn't going to approve having $7.5m in dead money for a single 3rd round pick. Graves isn't nearly enough of a liability to justify that deal to ownership. Even if it is a fair value deal in terms of roster construction.
