Literally dollar in dollar out according to JBB at his mid-season presser, and according to cap friendly they have like 712 bucks. JBB also hasn't traded off the active roster at the TDL. Which unless someone is on LTIR they'd have to do.</div></div>
They have a couple waiver-exempt players who could kill time in the AHL before the post-season starts. Middz only makes $725k

I say this as both a Wild fan and as a Sharks fan who loves Hertl. Hertl is <strong><em>NOT</em></strong> getting the best goalie prospect in the world back in a trade when he would strictly be a rental for us.
Even if for a second we entertained the idea of going all in this year, the youth and team we're going to likely have after the deadcap crunch goes away in 3.5 years has every chance of potentially being a dynasty. Trading a likely franchise goalie for 2 months of Hertl is downright insane, and frankly, stupidity at its finest.</div></div>
Respect your position and your input.
TBH, I made this AGM for me. Three of my favorite current Sharks are in rumors, so I came here to entertain those possibilities the way I want. I do not want Hertl to be traded, and I do not think he will be traded, but if he is the only package I want is from MIN.

TB's right side is better than most think.</div></div>
He's very good depth; tough and big in the way TB likes their Dmen, and he's an RFA. Also, TB shows no fear in trading their 1sts for tough depth, and it's worked out twice.
LeBrun has reported interest from TB, so I basically put together the Goodrow trade.

MIN's window probably snaps shut for a couple seasons after this year due to their dead cap, so if he feels this is MIN's best year I can see him going all in and capitalizing on this year's momentum.

Ik it just a preseason practice, but it’s stuff to consider. Players like Barabanov and Balcers have showed much more gusto and energy then Labanc. They’d probably play with Eklund and Hertl before Labanc. Though that’s just my opinion on what management/coaching might do.</div></div>
He was there because they know who he is, but they still don't really know Barabanov and they definitely don't know Pederson.
Sheng is just generating intrigue; he's a writer, it's ok.
Labanc is getting paid almost $5M, he's not getting put on the 3C. He's a surprisingly good playmaker and he's great on the Power Play. He was misused last year, and he still managed to generate enviable xGF. Being on a line with Hertl and Eklund will be very fruitful for him and us.

He's not, he's just a known value.
Labanc will be on the 2nd line and he'll (finally!!) be in the left-wing bumper position on the PP1.

SJ taking back Rask allows for cap flexibility with Hertl and Kirill in 21-22. The moves necessary to fit both in 22-23 and beyond will be made in the '22 offseason.
Hertl is a mad-crazy upgrade over Rask. Who can say exactly what a Stanley Cup combo really is, but Hertl gets them way closer than Rask would.

Patience is a virtue. The right deal almost always reveals itself. Besides, I think it's moot point. If Kane is still employed by the NHL in October that'll mean he's been exonerated and his value will go up. I predict he'll be traded to either MTL (because Bergevin is a f##k who doesn't care about anything but results) or CAR (because Brind'amore will turn him out and won't take any of sh1t ).

Can't buy him out, window is closed, and no, it makes more sense to trade him but for the right deal that doesn't include selling the farm. It also makes sense to prove there are consequences for bad actors; that bad actors don't get to play for an NHL team if they don't abide by the rules.

All due respect to Sheng, but maybe don't believe the hype. Plenty of sources attached to the interests of other teams would be happy to create a narrative where Kane's value is lower than it really is. Sheng's just doing his job as an unbiased reporter. Also, if he is exonerated Kane's value will automatically increase.

I just don't necessarily 100% agree that things aren't mendable -- especially If the investigation comes out in Kane's favor. If that's the case, I still agree that he's most likely traded (especially not having that baggage on his shoulder be nearly as heavy) but I think there's a small chance that he comes back and DW tells the guys who don't want him back to do their job and worry only about what they can control and to do their best at it.</div></div>
Your mouth to Gawd's ears... I want nothing more than for Kane to rehab his life, to reconcile with his family and teammates, and to commit to recovery. But he is so bluntly unconcerned with anything related to a renaissance that I just can't see it happening. I feel like DW took the "suck it up and play to win" approach with the crew already, but he may have reached the point of diminishing returns.

If the investigation finds that Kane didn't bet on games, then that goes against his wife's claim and so her other claims that he left his baby without paying for their milk etc. holds much less credence. That would make him tradeable. No reason for other teams to not want him, he just wouldn't be wanted in SJ if what Kurz and others have said regarding teammates wanting him gone is true.</div></div>
#realtalk
I've backed Kaner for years, but his conduct as of late has become a bridge too far no matter what the verdict turns out to be.
Kane will be traded before the szn starts. He will give his new team two solid years before he burns another bridge, after which he will be traded again starting the cycle over. He has never not produced goals no matter where he's gone, thereby proving his value, drama or not.
GMs and owners DO NOT CARE ABOUT FEELINGS. Player feelings, coach feelings, fan feelings... they don't care as long as they can win hockey games. They are billionaires employing employees, not people.

I think you're confused. If I was in charge Kane would be fired into the sun, but instead, the NHL is mostly made up of GMs and owners who don't give a damn about anything but results on the ice. There are more than enough lessons in realness you could find for yourself. I know the cynicism is a sad fact, but it is a fact. Wish it wasn't so, but it is so... etc
