But the trade makes no sense for Minni. They are even more cap strapped next year. And no way Hertl puts Minni over the top this season.

SJ taking back Rask allows for cap flexibility with Hertl and Kirill in 21-22. The moves necessary to fit both in 22-23 and beyond will be made in the '22 offseason.

Hertl is a mad-crazy upgrade over Rask. Who can say exactly what a Stanley Cup combo really is, but Hertl gets them way closer than Rask would.

They were a really good team last year with ??? (JEE I guess?) as their #1C why wouldn't Hertl put them over the top? Seems exactly the over-the-top thing. 😐

Goligoski getting replaced by a very cheap Calen Addison next season helps in that regard and basically kinda solves it honestly, too bad about Kulikov 🙁

It's the buyout cap for Parise/ Suter that jumps from 4.7m to 12.7m that kills Minni next season.

i think boldy + two firsts is too much for a rental. i like hertl a lot but if they’re willing to give up this much for him, might as well just add one more piece and go for eichel.

Humongous-Big overpay. Hertl is only worth a 1st and a good prospect since he's a rental. If Minnie knew he would extend then maybe you get another B prospect and a roster player. No way they would trade Boldy for Hertl imo. More like Khovanov, 2022 1st (top 10 protected), Beckman/O'Rourke and Victor Rask
