What is the price
It's not about getting "more" in a Zegras trade. The bottom line is not one of those four pieces makes Anaheim a better team. Why would Verbeek make a trade that with zero doubt makes the team worse?

Doubt Anaheim moves him especially with his value so low. Zegras-Horvat-Barzal would be very fun tho
This is going to be the most interesting offseason since 21/22
Also Lee at 50% plus a 5th and 3rd should honestly net a first maybe I am over valuing him
Honestly our #1 goal this offseason should be getting out of Lee and Pageau contracts

Players worth 1st round pick
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>It’s a thin year</div></div>
It is and it gets thin quickly. I don't have a problem with Celebrini at no. 1 and if I would be GM I would expect decent value for picks in range around 8-12. But the rest is not on a level of average year.

Players worth 1st round pick
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kyle_Okposo_Lover</b></div><div>Theres a clear top 12. Then a few bubble guys and that's it. Id add Bednarik to this and sub out Gridin, Hage, Boisvert and arguably Letourneau, that's it.
Any team drafting in the second half should move out of the pick</div></div>
Sure, you can slot in Bednarik, Parascak, Mews etc. I would also argue Letourneau, Brandsegg-Nygard and some other guys are 2nd rounders on average year. These guys at least have "something", nobody is completely average player. Letourneau is 6ft6 RC. Brandsegg-Nygard is successful in Allsvenskan. Boisvert is 6ft2 C who plays all-around NHL-style. Sennecke looks like year younger Calum Ritchie. Connelly is excellent skater. Gridin is good scorer at average NHL height (6ft1). Hage is 6ft1 RC from well respected Chicago Steel program.
It's not much, just something.

Ideas for Offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kyle_Okposo_Lover</b></div><div>I want to make a first round selection this year but outside of 12 guys, I don't want anyone else. I agree we don't need second round prospects but the truth is the guy we take at 18 or so isn't much better than the guy we take at 50. But for next season I believe its gonna be the guy who goes 30th OVR is better than this years guy who goes 18th, because this draft SUCKS. Like why is Michael Hage gonna be a first rounder?? 2023 he goes in the third round at the earliest.
As much as I want to resupply our prospect pool with top guys its not happening, so I have to accept we will attempt to contend at least through next season. This allows us a few things. We gain assets that always have value, allowing us to either trade the picks in the 2024-25 season to fill in holes we need to contend, or if we suck, to stockpile on draft picks.
Lee half reatined gets a 1st IMO, but I didn't wanna deal with the comments.</div></div>
I wouldn't mind landing one of Andrew Basha, Terik Parascak Cole Hudson. All are projected to go after us at 18 but I like them all more than Connelly Boisvert and Hage who are projected 18,19,20.

Oh I get that 100%. I am fine trading our first for more picks, given our draft record good chance we whiff and hell there is potiental those 2nds become better than the first rounder we traded plus have depth in an already sh*tty prospect pool would go a long way

Next year 3rd overall
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kyle_Okposo_Lover</b></div><div>he's a 30+ goal scorer with great analytics who had a down year and is our captain. And Lou would never pay to dump him.
A buyout is more likely and that is very low. I think we don't dump anyone but if we did it would be Pageau and that's it, and I highly doubt it. Ofc in an ideal world we move Mayfield, Engvall, Lee, Pageau, Palmieri and get positive value for all of them then trade for Buchenvich, sign Guentzel, etc, but this isn't happening.
Realistically id say its 10% we dump anyone and far more likely we trade our first for a cheaper player on a good deal but not worth it. Like 2025 summer RFA</div></div>
i agree, Lee is most certainly not being traded, he is still good but that's the problem he is just good and just good does warrant 7 million. Honestly it is probably best if we run it back next year and not do anything stupid

I agree he isn't getting dumped and shouldn't all things considered. However in a hypothetical scenario in which does and Lou uses a first, he should return at least a 2nd. I don't want to pay to dump anyone, I'd prefer to trade him during the 2026 deadline or 2025 draft, I feel if we retained 50% we could at the very least get a 2nd, maybe a 1st

Top NHL Prospects-- give me your thoughts
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kyle_Okposo_Lover</b></div><div>haha
I'm a BU fan so I've loved Commesso for a while so probably some bias there.
Nonetheless if fans are still gonna be super high on Knight then ill be high on Commesso too
Also, the Hawks have gotten the most out of Mrazek and I think they'll be able to coach him the same way. And id agree Nazar, Moore, and Rinzel are more NHL regulars. My grading scale includes goalies which is flawed so they're all really high. Need to fix that but I do believe he is a top 10 goalie prospect</div></div>
Yup thats fair, he is definitely one of the better goalie prospects in the leauge. I think a huge part of Mrazeks success in Chicago has been Jimmy Waite the hawks goalie coach who is a hidden gem in the league and I hope he can replicate some of what hes done with Mrazek and Corey Crawford with Commesso.

Kings Fans Question
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tkecanuck341</b></div><div>Hard to know you meant blame when "Blake" is an obvious connection to the Kings.
Dubois has had a slow start on every team he has played for. It takes him a while to find his groove. He's actually been better of late, with 11 points in his last 11 games, and a team leading +10 during that stretch.
He still has a long ways to go before he'll earn his contract, but his improvement between game 1 and 76 is promising. There's no reason to suspect that he won't continue to get better as he becomes acclimated to his new team.</div></div>
No, not hard to know

Kaliyev is likely a healthy scratch, Englund won't be on the top pair, Lizotte over Lewis at 4C, Grundstrom should be back, there will be the potential the Kings roll 11-7 with Moverare.

Can only really speak to the Chicago prospects but I dont think most hawks fans would consider Commesso the top guy in the system. Hes a good goalie and is having a decent rookie season the AHL but I think at this point Nazar Moore and Rinzel are all more projectable as NHL regulars
