Welcome to the NHL!
I will say, it is fitting that the Fresh Prince winds up on a team in Cali. Such a big fan of Smith, cannot wait to see what he, Celebrini, and Eklund have in store for us. San Jose is going to be so much fun in just a few years time

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafsfan98</b></div><div>And yet Chris Johnston's reported that Marner would be willing to waive his NMC...</div></div>
CJ has lots of sources that are agents. Lebrun has more sources in organizations.
Makes sense that Leafs tell Lebrun that they have been focused on hiring a coach and haven't asked Marner to waive. Ferris responds by leaking to a friendly journalist (CJ) that Marner is willing to waive.
It's actually pretty genius for Ferris. Even if in 2 weeks the Leafs as Marner to waive and he doesn't. Unless the team leaks that the public side is that Marner was willing to go but the Leafs never asked.

Big forechecking winger…grinds along boards, gets in dirty areas, will pick up the occasional dirty goal. Occasionally drop mitts. Better player than Reaves, but less goon.

I think we need to add Lindholm.
Real chances of him signing at say 7 million per?
Or adding 1 year 5 million and then term deal negotiation in season at 7?
Only happens if one of Marner or Tavares are gone.

12pm should mean 12pm puck drop. If you're gonna broadcast all the pregame bs you should let people know when puck drop is so they can skip it all.

What matters is where the picks ultimately ended up.
Also, the wild card spots in the East were held by Pittsburgh and the Isles on March 1st, 2023.

Ottawa had to leapfrog not just Florida, but at least 3 other teams in the East as well.
I guess that makes you incorrect as well ...</div></div>
No. What matters is how Dorian valued the picks at the time.
Retroactively changing the valuation is dum

So, Dorion thought, in making this deal, the picks would be roughly the same... making cmarch's point correct</div></div>
Thank you. The main difference is the 1sts. Dorion thought it would be a really late 2nd in 2024 which matches pick 54 and I'll take the other 2024 pick over a pick that at the time was 4 drafts out at the time.

I'm looking at <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/news/ufa-projections-how-much-money-did-canucks-elias-lindholm-cost-himself-this-year" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">contract projections</a> and there are a few here I'd take a gamble on. Kyllington at a Benny number is for sure a good bet. Not too old and Trev has lots of familiarity with him.
Lebanc an beau would also be decent depth bets

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>oneX</b></div><div>What I'm about to say isn't going to be popular around here but whatever.
Matthews and Nylander HAVE TO BETTER next season. What I mean by that is 60 and 70 goal seasons, 100+ point seasons are fun to watch but you know what's more fun to watch? Playoff wins.
I left out Marner and JT because who knows what happens with either or both but the compete level needs to be at a level we have not seen yet.
Every year I watch top players on other teams in the playoffs raising their levels and wonder why our guys can't bring that. It's not good enough to say "but hey this team plays in the toughest division in the league" I got breaking news for anyone thinking that...the division is not changing and the Leafs are not being moved back to the Western Conference.
This coming season is going to be very telling of what the core guys are really made of.</div></div>
Targetting those two after this year's playoffs is legit silly. Nylander had 3 goals and Matthews led the team in points while both were injured. Come on

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aadoyle</b></div><div>The thing im concerned with going into next season for TOR is not what the team is gonna look like but goaltending
Woll's health has come into question and I just dont know if you can rely on him as the starter
The goalie market is meh this year for FA and considering this teams 4 year window say go trade for a guy like Saros who can play 40-50 games and help yah win</div></div>
Brossoit-Woll would be a great option and wouldn't require any assets. Stolarz-Woll or Nedeljkovic-Woll is close.
Going to get Markstrom, Ullmark, Binnington, Gibson, Gustavsson, or Vejmelka are either too expensive in assets, cap space, or not an improvement on the above UFA's, IMO.

I see a 3 way deal where Marner lands in NSH and Toronto may get Wood+ from a 3rd team</div></div>
Yeah that works too.
