Why would we trade Sergachev, he is our best defenseman and still pretty young. Also Jeannot for Goodrow is a terrible trade.

Even tho I like Nils Hoglander, If Tampa trades Cernak, it will have to be for either a top15 pick or a young promising player like Johnson imo. I don't think any package that involve Hoglander would push Tampa to pull the trigger.

Well, De Haan is also a very reliable defenseman. Just did not work in Tampa, I also think Miller is way better.

40+ games a season since 2016 is quite reliable for a 3rd pair guy. He is not a star or anything but, still pretty good.

A 7th D lmao? He is a very reliable defenseman imo. I really like what he can provide to Tampa's defense. Nothing flashy but, good all around. 2.5m is more than fair.

Jeannot has played 40 more career games then Kaliyev and only has 9 more career points, Jeannot would be a good fit on the Kings no doubt about it but any team that pays that guy more than 1m a season is overpaying him. Jeannot had one good season producing 41 points the other 3 seasons of his career he hasn't broke 20 points.</div></div>
Right but, Jeannot produce more than points. He is very reliable defensively + brings physicality like no one else. Sure Kaliyev offensive upside is higher but, clearly does not work in LA.

This defense would clearly be an improvement from last year, Sergachev is our best defenseman, he played 34 games last year, Dumba was terrible, we upgrade on that with Miller. We also add in McDonagh. Even if we lose Cernak, it's better. Also, depth scoring was an issue all year. By trading Cernak, we also improve that.

In what situation 1.3m is overpaying? Basically the same price you would pay for Kaliyev if he resign.

Right handed defensemans have a lot of value, especially someone that is still pretty young and on a long-term deal. I could probably see Tampa adding something else in the deal tho.

I disagree, we have Sergachev back from injury, we traded for McDonagh and we have extra cap space to sign Collin Miller. Also, Lilleberg will probably be a bit better defensively with the extra year.

I get it but, I don't see it that way. We can have a physical team overall without having a gritty 4th. A defensive 4th add more to the team imo. The PK was Top5 in the league last year. Motte is a huge part of it. I also think we should not trade picks if we don't need to. Our prospect pool is already awful. We need to add to it.

I like Kaliyev and Krebs but, it's one or the other imo. We can keep assets and play someone like Goncalves or Huuhtanen instead. We also don't really need Grundstrom, we just resign Motte instead and again keep assets.

The value is there but, Tampa is not retaining cap. you will probably have to send a 4th for a 3rd team to be involved and retain.

Kaliyev+3rd for Jeannot+Perbix. I would say Kaliyev, Jeannot and Perbix all have 3rd round pick value currently.
