Brick Woll plus Toffoli
I wouldn’t ride Woll/Hildeby. Woll most definitely but can see the leafs signing a cheap vet as well and have Hildeby be the #3 that comes up when injuries happen! Woll has been phenomenal!

Leafs Cup 2025
If Marners willing to waive to come, we’d have to unload Chabot/Norris to even afford him, so I doubt it happens unless one of those 2 are included.

Packin with Lane and Macklin
Lindholm addition is interesting! Wondering if he doesn’t like the longer term deals being offered he could very much try something like this! Habs would be a good one to get a bunch of play time too! Win-Win for player and team I’d think (also Celebrini will be a sen so you may have to make adjustments in the top 6 lol 😉)

Bust adjacent
At this point I’d say with certainty that Boucher is a bust. Unfortunate injuries were the main culprit but he wasn’t very good when “healthy” anyway. Still can’t believe we took him at 10

2024-2025 Sens
Don’t think that deal makes sense for either team. Gibby won’t waive nor is he the player he used to be. Fowler won’t waive and same thing, not as good as he was before. Vatrano is a solid add. Chabots a fine player, but Anaheim is set a LD similar to us, so they’d have no interest. Boucher is never healthy, so his value is negligible. Forsberg has no value and Norris value is at an all time low, as well as another position Anaheim is very deep in. I’d be interested in Vatrano if the ducks were looking to move him but doubt they’d be interested in anything in this trade besides the 1st.

Hopeful Sens Roster 2024-25
I don’t think Anaheim would have any interest in Forsberg, but don’t mind the trade itself. Think sens can get a bit more for Chychrun, probably a 1st and either a middle 6 player or a 2nd. Brannstrom trade could make sense for both teams. More opportunity in SJ for Brannstrom to play up the lineup. Wouldn’t mind just keeping him too, he’s a solid bottom pair guy

I’d do that if sens aren’t one of the teams on his no trade list (probably are lol)

3 things you need to get anywhere close to the playoffs
Probably have to retain on Forsberg for anyone to bite. Brannstrom is solid as a bottom pair guy, I just don’t think the blues are the right team. Price is probably about right (late 2nd/early 3rd). Wouldn’t want Johansen personally but at 2m not the biggest deal.

Could Stolarz be another Anderson
Philly won’t send us bonk, too valuable after the season he’s had. Cates + Col 1st and maybe another smaller piece and I’d do it. I’d love to sign Roy but I’d also love DeMelo back! I really like Brossoit but Stolarz is good too!

Values are all over the place here. Stl, wpg and ana all decline, Ottawa declines the Edmonton one, habs one is probably fair. Doubt Ottawa blows it all up though, probably just move one of Chabot/Chychrun and a F maybe.

Keeping Chychrun
The only 1st I’d be willing to move is the Boston one. Ottawa will likely forfeit the 2026 1st so that 2025 1st would likely have no protection (unless they could give 2027 as part of condition but I’m not sure if you can). I’d decline based on that really

Offseason change up actually becomes competitive
I’d rather keep Chabot over that package personally. He’s a bit overpaid but it’s not like he’s a 2m player @8m, more likely a 6.5mish guy. Chabot-Chychrun is an awful pairing, mainly because they both don’t play a lick of defence. Chabot needs a steady, stay at home guy who can move the puck to be at his best. Matt Roy, DeMelo etc. would be perfect partners for him. I’d rather move Chychrun to be honest! Lower cap hit is more appealing to teams so can likely get a better package!

Stay or Go
Too many offensive minded players, and not enough effort on the defensive game. It’s great to score but you also have to defend. I’d lean to keep branny and move Chabot but his contract will be a tough sell. Add in some good depth and a steady goalie and this team can be a lot better. Although I feel like I’ve said this for 3 years now lol

retool looooool
Branny is hard to gauge really. Analytically he’s been great the past 2 seasons, especially this season. Not a guy who is much of a net front presence but he’s got a good stick and gets in shooting lanes. Doesn’t get much PP time either and is kind of stuck in a crappy situation behind a bunch of higher paid LD. He’s probably worth a 2nd or so but might take a player they can insert in the middle 6 who’s defensively responsible.

Jarry V2
Way too much from Detroit in that Chychrun deal. I’d be happy to get a 1st between 15-20 this year and maybe a bottom 6 player for him. I’d probably do Detroits 1st this year (if they prefer 2025 then so be it) and Veleno if DET would even have an interest. Kleven probably has more value to Ottawa than any team acquiring him. He’s had a great year in Belleville, not a guy who’s gonna put up a lot of points but he’s a big body, stay at home guy. Plays his game well.

If I remember correctly (probably not lol) there wasn’t much on the market for RD. Typically just older guys or projects. Maybe Myers would have been better at the time but they also got to shed that garbage Zaitsev contract. Also the leafs got really screwed with the Covid cap freeze, 10.9 m for Marner would be a lot more tolerable if the cap was over 100m right now! Can’t really fault leafs brass for that one
