I'm not to sure but that was my logic behind the trade. Also who else would Vegas take if they get rid of Davidson and leave pouliot and pleky unprotected</i></div></div>

Ok fine. I get your logic. From another teams perspective, don't you think another team could offer the Oilers a better, low term player, instead of Plekanec though? If the goal was to free up cap space, there are handful of teams that will take Nuge off your hands without giving you any salary in return (In the off-season preferably).

If the trade had to be right now, If I'm Carolina or NJ, I'd easily offer a 1st rounder and an ok prospect with no cap dump going your way.

Anyways my point in asking was to see if you could convince me to thinking this trade was plausible. (I'm a Habs fan and was really hoping you would) Unfortunately, Chiarelli would be run out of town if he made this trade. If the goal is save cap space, there are ton of other deals available to be made. This one barely does that at all. Not too mention the Davidson is decent dman. You could get a decent draft pick for him. Dalton Thrower however is so bad that he'll probably be an average player in the ECHL for the rest of his life, just to give you an idea. Quite possibly the worst 2nd round pick in Habs recent history.</i></div></div> I agree with you 100 percent this isn't close to the best trade option just another idea with the injuries lol
