If they had been consistently putting up the production that they are now, then I'd have to say Yes. Given how they have both overachieved from recent years, I don't think Arizona would gripe much.
Granted, Cap space is everything now. So the fact that they are both dirt cheap could change things. But I didn't think the 24' 2nd was really lowballing them.</div></div>
Fair as always, mon frère.
We'll see how Bjugs n Vali play next 5 weeks but I think NY should pull the trigger ASAPRocky

this isn't my proposal but Cat isn't ppg nor elite. He's really good, forces turnovers, doesn't drive possession on his own, if you need him @6M that's fair but OTT needs way more than a 8-9M very good scoring winger. Dufour is a very decent prospect, OTT needs D and netminder prospects more, but wingers just aren't that valuable.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>Mayfield <em>may</em> return a late 1st and a 3rd if teams are desperate but there are lots of options for cheap decent defense this year (Schenn, Braun, Maatta retained, Holden, Shattenkirk retained, Gavrikov retained, Gudas retained, Stecher, Kulikov, Walman, Tinordi, etc), so I would say it's pretty unlikely that happens.
Dufour looked solid in the Q but really hasn't been that great in the AHL so far. I would not pay a 1st for him personally, but lets say someone would for arguments sake
To summarize that would be at most 2 late 1st's and a mid/late 1st vs 7th OA, an early 2nd, and a 3rd. Gonna have to disagree with you here.</div></div>
It's almost like Cat @ 6M is worth less than Cat @ 8-9M and 1 year older. Wauw.

Meier Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lancebmx</b></div><div>Well they are already retaining on Burns. They may find a home with a bit of retention for Karlsson, unlikely but keeping the option open. Maybe Labanc or Bonino could be moved with retention, or maybe they just make a deal for retention for another team and get a pick, they have done that in the past. Just wanted to leave the option there and since Johnsson is an expiring contract it doesn't hurt SJ at all.
Comrie, Korpisalo, Talbot, Reimer should all be made available for trade and I'm sure most of those teams wouldn't mind taking an expiring Blackwood deal back in return. Maybe they sign him for cheap and take a chance on him as a back up next year.</div></div>
Comrie, Korpisalo, and Reimer don't have any value and Comrie is prolly negative due to his contract
I think you're right with retention iterations for SJ.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>poeticentropy</b></div><div>not that excited about Sharangovich since he's 24 and his production rate is down from last year while playing on a really good team (0.4 vs 0.6ppg), but he checks the NHL player forward box. Muk checks the RD prospect box that Grier lost with Merks, but wondering if another good prospect could come in with Muk instead of Sharangovich, like Holtz (obviously) or a fair mix of Casey/Foote/Gritsyuk/Walsh/Stillman</div></div>
Holtz + Muk + 1st is way too much for rental Meier, esp with no retention. Shar is kinda exactly what SJ needs in terms of a winger, prolly more valuable this year and next for NJ than Holtz.
Who else is in it for Meier with resign that he'd want to join [not Buff]?

BRING BACK THE VETS
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Joxu</b></div><div>Yeah, I could see Bjugstad getting more. As for the trade, would Nemeth be any kind of an upgrade over Marc Staal? Can't really see FLA letting go of Gudza unless its for something that can improve their defence alot, I feel like the plan is to have a Knight/Gudza tandem for years to come.
Is Kulikov really that bad? I had the thought he was a servicable bottom 4 fill, who could make Montour's game less risky with his defense.
I still don't see any reason that Bob would waive his NMC, so I really doubt a trade will be possible...</div></div>
Bob would lose out on more money than he'd remake if he was bought out.
Nemeth and Staal are both bad offensively but Nemeth is a bit better defensively this year, he is 30 vs 36 and at 50% he'd be 1.25M next year which is fair value as a 3LD/1PKer
Ghost would be great for FLA but he [+ Bjustad] prolly outplayed FLA's trade ability, esp if he comes back healthy before TDL.
Defensive dmen are extremely overrated compared to puck moving dmen, esp for a team like FLA/EDM who have forwards that rly NEED the puck since they don't backcheck.

Bjugstad is worth a '23 3rd or future 2nd if not more by TDL should he stay on fire, his metrics are rly good
Kulikov isn't worth the 4th alone
How about Bjugstad + Nemeth 50% for guzda?
Keep the picks to dump Bob at 50% in offseason or restock prospect pool

If they retain it would allow NJ another move which may be worth an extra future 2nd. Blackwood needs to be dumped for a Talbot equivalent or better.

Zona trade is way more spicy than should be... middle 6 RW for bottom 6 gritty C. What's your rationale for Zona to do it? As soon as Emil is UFA he isn't worth paying what he'll want/deserve and Jan will prolly be affordable thru his prime.

Reilly has another year left which will cost you a '23/24 2nd that you don't have in order to move so what prospect is attached with him to ANA, SJ, CBJ or Chi because Lohrei or Dipietro are the only ones of interest to Zona with your 3rd attached and Smith dump

Oilers Go 4 It

If you looked a little deeper into his stats, you'd see that he rarely plays with McDavid or Draisaitl, so that's definitely not the force behind his current success. Besides, he's posting BETTER underlying stats than either of them right now.
As for your assertion that he's a product of Bouchard, once again the facts prove you wrong: Broberg generally posts better numbers away from Bouchard (both offensive and defensive metrics) than with him.

50 vs 225 TOI difference... c'mon dude.
Maybe look at QOC and the underlying metrics without production becomes startling.
He doesn't hit, doesn't force takeaways, does give up the puck, doesn't play vs top comp, does play on a team where the OPP is chasing McJesus 25 mins, which is twice his TOI.
He may be amazing one day, this year ain't it.

LOL I wonder if his 62+% OZ starts has something to do with that tiny sample size or if playing exclusively with Bouchard and a stacked forward team has something to do with that, yet he has almost no production himself :awesome
Really makes you wonder who of the 5 on ice is driving the offense and why you would wanna trade him if he's so awesome?
He's literally replacement level due to his contribution to the other 4 on the ice.
