MTL w/CBJ Trade Paches
I'd legit be shocked if anyone gives up a first for Pacioretty. He'll be worth a package like that if he picks it up this year, but not right now

Fair value but way too much for Columbus to give up....too many good young players are moved out.

Washington Capitals signed Brooks Orpik (1 Year / $1,500,000 AAV)
Well the Grubauer trade is a win for Washington. They save 4.5M in cap space while keeping Orpik and getting a 2nd. Great signing. He was very good in the playoffs.

I know I might take **** for this but I think this signing is fine, I've watched alot of "Day with the cup" and generic shows on the caps run and he is revered by his teammates . He is also a crazed warrior with what he played through on the cup run. We all have our careers and i think people can relate when there are people at work who are great to work with. We have to remember that these are human beings and the caps struggled mightily to "get over the hump" and guys like this made it possible. So as long as he is not played out of his depth and is 6/7 dman I think this is fine.

Great 3rd Line
Davidson and/or Abramov have a shot at vaulting over Hanaikkainan out of camp.
They seem to like more speed on 1 side and a heavier hitter on the other. Flip Bjorkstrand with Anderson, putting Milano with Anderson and Jenner with Bjorkstrand.

I think Abramov makes the team and is used on the 2nd or 3rd line.

Great forward group. Would be a huge loss to lose Panarin. CBJ would also be smart to trade Foligno and Dubinsky, then go after Duchene next season.

Not bad, better then a lot of other Panarin trades as far as value.

I think this value is spot on for a trade with Panarin, but that's without the extension.
An extended Panarin should command more and I think the Jackets could do far better.

You would have to dump some money. And I don’t see Panarin extending with SJS if he wants to go to a big city.

Then I guess throw in one of the seconds from 2019. I don't think an extension should be worth that much because it doesn't actually cost the Jackets anything more. Plus with Panarin unlikely to re-sign they aren't exactly negotiating from a position of power.

Panarin to San Jose with an extension would likely start with Couture..... which I think would help both teams. We need a true top line center and you get another superstar on the wing.

No one is going to trade a 1C like Couture to get Panarin. That’s not a thing in the NHL. I can’t for the life of me understand why you think that would even be a thing. Panarin type trades come in form of futures, prospects and draft picks, and maybe a decent roster player. Not a 1C.

Panarin is only rumored to want to go to place where there is water. That’s the only preference that’s been revealed. None of the rumors have pointed to big city, but even if they did, the Bay Area is pretty damn big.

Josh Norris is not the Sharks best prospect. Merkley is the Sharks top prospect.

And this is exatly why Panarin won’t be traded....... no ones willing to give up what Jarmo wants to get for him..... thank you all knowing hockey god.

Well it helps CBJ. And for you guys. SJS doesn’t need another damn LW. So it’s that or nothing from what makes sense to me. And I’d see him head to Colorado. NY, LA now that Patches isn’t there or work alongside Barkov which would be insane.

Depends on how you grade prospects. Merkley has a high chance of busting while Norris is likely to make it. Norris also older making him closer to making an NHL roster.

You must obviously don’t know that Panarin and Jarmo are working on an extension. Panarin wants to be in Columbus he just doesn’t know if he wants to commit the next 8 years there.
