Thank you.
That type of comment never makes sense to me. They still have value.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>robrob10</b></div><div>Nobody signed for 2023-24. Wallstedt is further away than that.</div></div>
Not true.
Professional scouts disagree with that assessment. They think he's a lot closer to NHL ready than that. This is the best goalie prospect in the world right now you're talking about.
Wallstedt is going to be playing in the AHL next year. It wouldn't be unreasonable to expect him to be pushing for a roster spot, even if it's as a backup, by 23-24. This is a kid who has been playing against grown men since he was 17 in the SHL, and succeeding.
The <em>only</em> reason he'll be playing for Iowa next year is so he can get accustomed to North American ice and game speed. That's it.
He's much farther along in his development as a goaltender at a younger age than your average goaltending prospect. He's not someone who's going to take until he's 27 to see NHL ice.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HOCKEYBOY448</b></div><div>Really I thought he’d have been over either that year or 24-25.</div></div>
He's signed his ELC and is expected to play for Iowa next season. He's already coming over.

The Bruins are going to have to dump salary just to re-sign Bergeron. How are they going to be able to take on Zuccarello's contract?

This is so so bad for Minnesota. Minnesota isn't trading Zuccarello, nor foligno. Alex G isn't waiving

It is not. CapFriendly automatically calculates the buyouts. So now you’re doubling the buyout affects.

No you’re not understanding. The cap hit is calculating the buyouts for you. Do the math, if you don’t believe me.

Buddy the buyouts are auto charged. You do not need to pretend like 69M is the limit. Those penalties are factored in.

You know the buyouts are auto reflected in the cap on this site, right?

This trade was all you. Well done sir. Hopefully it gets done. I think everyone would be happy with this outcome.

What About This
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>Wild aren’t getting 1st plus two A-level prospects.
Look at recent comps like Buchnevich, Reinhart deals. Two RFA wingers comparable in value to Fiala. Both traded last year.
Look at how Wild GM speaks about Fiala publicly. How Fiala has stripped the Wild from his socials.
Look at Minnesota’s cap situation.
Look the the entire history of NHL draft trades.
Look at Fiala’s contract situation.
Look at the clock ticking.
What tells you Fiala gets such a high return?</div></div>
Using Reinhart/Buchnevich as the comparables is hilariously misguided. Fiala would have had that value prior to this past season. Since he had a point per game season his value has definitely gone up significantly.
Hall being traded to Arizona from New Jersey is the closest comparable to Fiala in recent memory.
Minnesota can clear cap other ways.
Guerin is also on record saying he likes Fiala and wants to have him back. But that doesn’t grab the clicks or fit your narrative so obviously it just gets tossed aside, right?

There is a VERY good chance not one player taken in the top 10 of this draft ends up as good of a player as Fiala is now…and he’s still getting better!

Fiala...for...
one of - Zacha, Johnsson, Tatar, Boqvist, Zetterlund, Walsh
one of - Kuokkanen, Clarke, Thompson, Stillman
one of - 2022 2nd round pick (#37), 2023 2nd round pick

I struggle to package Fiala and Addison for the 2nd overall but might be willing to bite on it depending on the total trade overall. Just for a shot at Cooley.
There is <strong>ABSOLUTELY ZERO</strong> scenarios where you package Wallstedt on top of Addison, not even for Mercer.
The team needs ONE top-six prospect in its system beyond just Rossi and Khusnutdinov with top line potential. Not two. Besides, we wouldn't have need of Mercer if we got a crack at Cooley.
