These are the best lines I've seen so far, and I think they're likely to be what we see on opening night. Only things I would change are Carpenter over Reese and Stillman over Kalynuk.

Top 10 Prospects

First two are very meh but do have some potential, definitely not top 10. I wouldn't call Shalunov a prospect anymore.
Also, Hardman should not be on this list - he's kind of already at his ceiling and doesn't project to play much of a role in the future. I would put either Kayumov or Vlasic instead of him.

If the Blackhawks want Boqvist
People keep trading for him on here because of the brother angle, but we don't actually want him. We have too many similar tweener players who haven't met their potential, and shouldn't give up any assets for another one.

Updated Expansion draft protection lists
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Stan_Bowman</b></div><div>I certainly think there is a possibility that one of De Hann and Zad could be traded before expansion, but if not this is just my feeling what will happen. Bowman would be stupid to not open up a spot for Beaudin, and I think one of them is gone.</div></div>
I don't mean to say we should keep De Haan and Zadorov - I think if De Haan doesn't get taken we should trade Zadorov's rights. If we enter next season with Keith, De Haan, and Murphy anchoring all three pairings with Beaudin, Boqvist, and Mitchell, I think we could be getting close to contending again.

Updated Expansion draft protection lists
I say protect De Haan over Zadorov. Now that we don't have to worry about Seabrook's cap space, his contract isn't going to be a problem, and he is a much better defensive anchor for the young guys than Zadorov is.
Also, even if De Haan is exposed, I think Seattle takes Wallmark instead of De Haan. There are going to be a lot of good defensemen exposed, and Wallmark is an excellent (and cheap) depth center, which every team needs. Based on the trends from the last draft, I would not be shocked if we keep both De Haan and Zadorov.

Yea I would only take this if there is an extension in place, my main point is that Danault is better for the Hawks long term as a 3rd line defensive center with very good offensive upside, versus Strome who has a higher offensive ceiling, but won't get top six minutes ahead of Dach or Toews.

Strome isn't gonna get us a young top six winger - Danault has been a Selke contender recently and may just be having a down year. I think it's a great time to buy low on a guy who can anchor a defensive 3rd line for years to come. The Hawks have been missing that Bolland-esque presence for years, and Danault is perfect for that going forward.

Top 10 Blackhawks this year

Kubalik and Strome having rough starts. Debrincat needs to be scoring because his playoff performance didn’t exactly scream lock me in for the future. Suter Kurashev are welcome suprised that hopefully give these rough starts some friendly competition to go harder.</div></div>
I think Kubalik is very underrated here. 4 points in 6 games, top 3 in CF% on the team. Ideally he scores more at 5v5, but that may come if he gets more ice time. Should be top 5 on this list.

Logan Stanley and kovacevic could especially develop into similar players to Murphy</div></div>
If we're trading Murphy, I would want a prospect who can become as good as Murphy. Stanley, Lundmark, and Kovacevic may play a similar game to Murphy, but it is very unlikely that they ever become top 4 guys, at least going off of what I have read from scouts and reporters. Gustafsson is interesting, but I think his ceiling is 3rd line center, which isn't a position of need and isn't enough for Murphy. I would do it for Heinola or Samberg, but I highly doubt the Jets want that, so I don't think the trade works between the two teams.

I know its a short season so far, but 5 points in 6 games. All 5v5. Mostly gets Dzone starts. Is a +3. We all know he's good defensively and plays on the PK. All on a pretty bad team.</div></div>
He's not the best skater, and while many are not entirely his fault, he is involved in a number of defensive breakdowns in the defensive zone. Also, I think a lot of his success has come because he's playing on such a terrible team, making his play look better than it truly is. I have been more of a Murphy believer than a lot of the Hawks fans on this site for the past couple years, and I think he is a very solid #3 guy, but not quite top pair.

Also he’s a high end shutdown guy but that’s it. He’s no top pair d-man.
However, I can replace appleton with a different propecg such as Nathan smith? Or maybe if the jets are confident they can resign Lowry, David gustafsson? That’s about all he’s worth though tbh. Don’t really have the currency to pay 2 2nds like I originally planned so I tried to make it up with a prospect.</div></div>
Murphy is not a top pair d-man, but he is a very good shutdown second pair guy, and he is very important to the young (and usually porous) Hawks defense. The Hawks become a worse team by doing that trade, and the second does not have a high enough chance of giving us a player of Murphy's caliber for this to be worth it, even with the other (very meh) prospects you offered.

Kane to Boston Scenario 1
1. The Toews conspiracy theory is completely untrue, the article quoted "April Foolington" as a source
2. If you are sending 8 assets for 2, the trade is never going to go through. The Bruins do not have the trade capital necessary to get Kane, unless you are willing to part with McAvoy or Pastrnak (which you obviously aren't, so it is not going to happen)
