Chicago will have to take some salary somewhere just to reach the cap floor as it currently stands, and they could do worse than Mangiapane. But point taken

Fair enough, I wasn’t sure what the temperature on Dach was. I knew Guhle would be a stretch, I thought having Farrell and Coronato continuing their path together would be enticing. All good, appreciate the feedback.

Better to Send Picks & Prospects for Meier 50% retained and figure out whether we’re re-signing Meier and moving players out to clear cap space to do OR Trading Meier to get some top assets back in the off-season</div></div>
So if we keep Toff, and use picks and prospects, what do your lines look like with Toff and Meier in the lineup?

Kyllington is currently a toss in cap wise. But when he returns is a significant piece, and he will return. I didn’t include Coronato because Flames fans have seemed in untouchable, lol. But honestly I don’t see a spot for him in your lineup, a shoot first (smallish) RW. Guenther is claiming one of those top spots, Schmaltz, and Crouse are signed for the next 5 years. Phillips can be a center who has high end skill and can be a stop gap until Cooley or “Bedard” is fully ready.

That’s fair, so hypothetically speaking. If Calgary were to trade Hannifin to Boston, what’s a fair return?
Calgary has to take salary back to make it work from Bostons side. Ideally I would like Carlo and a 1st, but I don’t know if that’s too much?

Lucic - 44 GP / 4 G / 9 A / 13 P / -3 / 23 PIM / 11:41 TOI
Would Boeser be better than Looch on our 2nd line, ABSOLUTELY. Is it worth giving up a prospect, a 1st, and a 4th? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

the swedish clownfish started his aggression, typical i know... and then whines about not having me accept his argument that Schneider is better because he has a few more points as a depth defensemen vs the other arguments presented as in TOI/CF/Fenwick/Norris consideration. The trade is literally cap compliant and he complains about that too. Sounds a lot like it must be something in the water.</div></div>
I know the trade is cap compliant as I said, and I believe that Tanev is a better d man than Schneider.
“And me as well”? I don’t believe I ever attacked anyone.

Both Schneiders Corsi %/60 and Fenwick %/60 is well below Tanevs. In truth I think they’re a similar player.
For me Tanev beats Schneider by the he test, because he rarely makes a mistake. He makes a younger mobile d-man much more valuable at this point in his career. Will Braden be better over his career? Maybe?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AG_sweden</b></div><div>Not by a mile. And what you just said makes no sense. How is arguing back and forth a sign if it being close?</div></div>
Because their is valuable points from both sides, you don’t have to agree with them. Tanev is the better d man than Schneider, and the rangers are still cap compliant after the trade. If NYR are unwilling to move Schneider at this point, that is a fair and acceptable argument, but both sides have merit.

I know it wasn’t a mistake, but c’mon man.
Also in a side note, I don’t think any team can retain on more than 2 players, but I could be wrong.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>oilfire</b></div><div>Sending out Toffoli, our top goal scorer, for a rental and somone who hasn't played this year doesn't make much sense to me.</div></div>
After making this proposal I looked into Duclairs status, and realized he was further out on his recovery than I thought. So no it doesn’t really make sense.
Also it was more of an in theory trade. I don’t know how much of an upgrade Meier is over Toffoli at this time, I don’t know if it’s worth messing with chemistry that is finally starting to click. And the second part of this is that Meier could not be a rental, they would have to resign him for it to make sense.

I think that we could include a young D, like Mackey. But Toffoli or similar contract would need to be added to balance out cap hits.
