Opening night lines
Maybe leave the Devils lines to someone that watches them....this is too much of a mess to even start to discuss. It's like you took the lines and threw them in a blender.

Retool
I'm not sure if Kuznetsov has all the value to be worth more than Dvorak right now when it comes down to Kuznetsov's actions last year that have pissed off the WSH management, and that Dvorak's WAR score is higher while being 2/3rds the price. I don't think bringing back Beagle can be seen as worth anything to Arizona as they seem content to eat all the bad contracts and shouldn't be making things cheaper to take away their bad hits.
The other tough thing is that Kuznetsov has a NTC for 15 teams and you would HAVE to think Arizona is there...so unless he hates it in WSH or they convince him to go, it'll be rough.
I agree he should be the guy to go if they can, but for all those reasons it'll be tough sell...

I literally said in there he played fewer games.
Even still, I'll take the upside of four younger years.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mikearky</b></div><div>Curious, why would Jersey do that, 21 players signed and 12.5 million in cap space, as they have no cap issues.</div></div>
If this were early in free agency and there were defensive defensemen still on the market, I definitely would look to move Subban to improve the penalty kill, but now the market is dry so I'll run with Subban on 3rd. RHD market is tough.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>vikhodush</b></div><div>Genuinely ask bc I haven’t watched Sharangovich play too much - is this really a lot to pay for Forsberg? Looking at his numbers he had a good year last year but before that all of his numbers are very pedestrian in all other leagues. I would imagine this is a huge upgrade for next year and with the Devils shaping up really nicely to contend soon, I could easily see Forsberg being pitched to sign long term there.
What are Sharangovich comps long term?</div></div>
Sharangovich is really fun to watch. He's got a WICKED wrister and he's fast. He grew up as a defensive first center and his coaches started telling him to shoot and he had a heater of the year starting in the KHL before coming to the NHL. He's also one of the most loved guys on the team from the fans with his great personality. He earned his way into playing with Jack. I can EASILY see him as a high 20s, low 30s guy in his peak if he's playing top 6, but he might get bumped to 3rd line on no fault of his own, just slotting because of Tatar if he plays with Hughes (Kuokkanen is the boards guy that wins battles), but Sharangovich will give teams without depth fits.

JFresh posted Erat's WAR graphs on twitter recently, so take a look if you'd like. i understand the point you're making, but I think it's a fair trade.</div></div>
Well, you made the trade so I would assume you think it is good, but also Sharangovich has a 76% WAR to Forsberg's 85% but also Forsberg is due to be a UFA and Sharangovich is 4 years younger. I would rather work with the younger guy when close.
Last season Sharangovich had 16g 14a for 30pts. Forsberg had 32. Granted Forsberg played fewer games, but I'll take Sharangovich's upside over Forsberg's UFA money on an extension (which I didn't see you mention anywhere but would HAVE to be in a deal like this).
Not a fair trade in my book.

Devils have probably made the moves they will make that cost them anything. Sharangovich is someone the Devils should see ride rather than make a Erat for Forsberg trade...

No way is that mix of guys worth Mercer and a 1st. Miller is good, but Devils aren't looking to just take on players. Miller doesn't put them over the top and no worth the price.

I would really like Soucy to add depth as Devils lack real tweeners that can be a nice #7 option without worrying about development. I could see it being a middling prospect to give SEA something in the minor that will act as a cheap or "no worry of development" player for a year or two from now, and mix in one or those spare 4th.

I'm not taking anything for granted in the Metro. Not rushing to jump WSH and PIT...their aging, poor cap usage, and poor prospect pools will do them in. As for Tarasenko, wouldn't even risk a late 1st on a guy no one knows for sure how healthy he is. It's not a sellers market for STL here, not many teams are at the center of the Venn Diagram that are both in the playoff hunt, have cap room, and seem to be interested.

ARI seems to want more for Dvorak alone.
You are just trading guys the Devils are willing to dump anyway. Dvorak has value, just not as high as what they are asking.
Kessel wants to go to VGK, not sure he gets his wish, but like how Tarasenko needed to widen his search seemingly, Kessel may have to do the same.
