Mtch Mrner COL WPG OTT ARI ANA trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dzad96</b></div><div>I am not from Toronto, and I have been to Philly, beautiful city. I mean as Toronto being his hometown, Philly isn't that much better of a living situation for him (if it's even better at all). And I would guarantee you if Philly offersheets Marner, Toronto Offersheets Provorov. That's what I mean as far as pi$$ing off Toronto. If they lose Marner they have lots of cap space to retaliate.</div></div>
fair point about provy

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>arafay</b></div><div>In what world do you think the jets will do that. Hagg is easily replaceable on the free agent market for cheaper (he is worth a 6th at best) and vorobyov isn’t worth the downgrade. You gave up depth peices and a 2nd for a 1st, does that really make sense to you?</div></div>
just saw a jets fan on another thread say they'd trade a third for hagg. i know they're not the GM but that was one metric I used in gauging WPG's need for defense. Yeah Vorbyov is worth replenishing a first rounder for me. Haven't even been impressed with the AHL games I saw this year

Thread:
Mtch Mrner COL WPG OTT ARI ANA trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dzad96</b></div><div>You're not getting Marner.
My point is there isn't a single team that has all of these traits:
1) The Cap space to pay Marner 11+ million a season
2) The willingness to spend 11+ million a season on Marner (a winger Id like to point out)
3) The draft picks to do so.
4) A place where Marner would like to live for the next 7 years.
5) A team Marner would like to play on for the next 7 years.
6) A GM who actually has the balls to do something like this and pi$$ off the richest team in hockey.
here's what Philly is lacking: 1, after that MORONIC Hayes contract. Only reason you have any cap space is that Voracek trade, which i can't see happening.
4 and 5, can't see Marner choosing Philly over Toronto for a couple more dollars.</div></div>
First off, hockey aside, as someone who appears to be from the Toronto area, I don't think you realize what a great city Philadelphia is and also how optimal its location is. I see no reason Marner wouldn't sign in Philly for 12.5m if Toronto can't afford to give him 10m+. Also step off the high horse. No one gives a **** that the Leafs are the Leafs. Let them be pissed if they want, business is business.
All that being said. Yes, I was questioning the Voracek trade a bit myself. The Avs have the cap space and a lot of young talent. Voracek is a fantastic hockey player who's locked in for five more years. However, if they aren't interested, I think Voracek has to be worth at least two firsts and a second somewhere. That is where we would get the picks to reload after offer sheeting Mitch Marner.
Finally, I've never been high on the idea of offer sheeting Marner anyways. I'm just playing around with some possible scenarios and getting creative as a keyboard warrior GM anyways cause its fun. I don't think I'm too far out of reality with this though. The market is very interesting this year.

Chuck cant stop
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>krakowitz</b></div><div>That Arizona trade is horrendous. Keller is their best young forward and a player that they're building the team around. Rubtsov is looking more and more like a bust, and JVR isn't worth as much as a young stud like Keller on his ELC. And then the Coyotes are supposed to add high draft picks? Absolutely not.
Not only is Konecny not being traded, but if he was, LA would shoot that down real fast. That's going to be a very high first next year, and TK isn't worth that at all.
That Minnesota trade is essentially you saying that Hagg and Zucker are close to equal in value, which is the furthest thing from true. Hagg is a third pairing defenseman at best, and Zucker is a top six forward.
Seguin isn't going anywhere, and if he were to be available, I can assure you that a return from Philly would have to include Couturier and then some.
I'm trying to figure out what universe Raffl is worth a second round pick in, and I can't come up with one.
One more thing -- Panarin isn't signing for that little, and he definitely wouldn't sign for that little to go to Phily.</div></div>
youre right, TK is worth more than a pick

yeah.. idk if i like this trade, but hagg isn't useless. for his cost he's a decent 6th man or first man off the bench. he's serviceable but the flyers are trying to make moves and don't have room for fringe players at the moment. not saying he's worth a ton but a lot of our fanbase is more down on him than he actually deserves

as a flyers fan, felt like an underpayment, or just in general not fitting our needs. we don't need young defenseman or picks, we need a 2nd line center (Hayes), RW and a solid defenseman
