Less is more, these all star lineups doesn't work. You need a team and a team we already have.

I would do it. Keep the picks and get another player ala Mathieu Joseph with the cap space created

Still don't think the blues do it. We are deep on the wing. If we trade it will be for a very good defensive prospect in the package

Personally I would do it now.
Not that I don't like Tarasenko but Kakko and the picks are nice
Problem is how to fit Goodrow? Sens can't

Very fair, I think its also he's just adjusting to a new coaching style, has definetly looked much better the past few games

expectation rankings
I like this idea but had a few places where I disagree
Ok starting with way above expectations, is Fox's start really been that far above expectations? Like he's been amazing but given what we've already seen from him is it really that surprising? Same with Shesterkin like is this really shocking? Other than that I think it looks good, I'd probably have Laf in above instead of way above just bc his production hasnt been great but I can see the arguement
Next in above expectations have we watched a different Lindgren? If anything I think he has been subtly falling bellow expectations but at the most he is probably meeting expectations right now. Miller is simmilar to Laf where I'd probably have him slightly lower but can see the argument for him being there. Other than that looks good
In meeting expectations I agree except for Chytil and Schneider. Chytil being above expectations and Schneider slightly below. Definetly room for debate but that's where id have them
Now everyone else looks good except for Kreider. I know that top line hasn't been fantastic 5v5 but Kreider still has 9 goals in 12 games. I dont care what he does 5v5 if he can score at a 60 goal pace and play well defensively? Thats fantastic I'd say he's probably above expectations at this stage

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BruinsWoahWoah</b></div><div>Agreed - I don't think EDM is going to have any interest in Trocheck or Goodrow in a deal. Most likely would be Chytil, Miller/Lindgren, Kakko, a prospect, and the firsts.</div></div>
Goodrow would HAVE to be included simply to make the cap work. Probably have to sub Garand for Sykora due to Edmontons goalie woes. They still probably don't do it without one of Othmann/Perrault

Got it...
The key here I think is getting Kakko going. He's a possession beast- but the irony is how the unit manages to get so few chances and shots...even when controlling possession. I think time will show Wheeler is not the answer on this line. Maybe he's holding a spot for Kane? or Chytil when he returns? Would be nice for Kakko to figure things out....or for the unit to figure things out to generate more O (especially while cycling)...but that's up to Kakko working w/ the coaches, and keeping his confidence- which seems so fragile.

If any center is going to go back in a McDavid trade, Edmonton is going to want either Zibanejad or Chytil. Zibanejad gives them a top line player, Chytil gives them a reasonable cap hit for an up and coming player. NYR are going to be stuck with Trocheck. Chytil will be most likely due to his lack of a NMC.

I am sure if he is playing well and to his strengths the points will come for him. I love people and players who are written off prove nay sayers wrong. TBH, last year and over the summer I was having my doubts about Laf as well, I like him a lot as a player and wish the best for him though. Glad to hear he is playing well again.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RussianRangers9</b></div><div>the points may not be perfect, however, watching him play everygame is day and night from last year. He has been the reason why panarin is on a 12 game point streak. Laf makes so many plays and sets up panarin. he may not get as many points due to being the 3rd guy or the starter of the play, but his game has been superb this year. also, thanks for being respectful with the question</div></div>
Ok that's fair, so pretty much like Salf this year when playing with Anderson and Newhook. He should have had many more points but Anderson couldn't convert on the passes. I am glad to see Laf finally finding his groove, hopefully he can maintain it for the whole season.

Obviously Kakko's move to 3RW generates trade speculation. But unless Kakko is pressing for a fresh start somewhere else, or Drury is offered an over pay, Id keep him in NY. While his stats don't overwhelm, his floor is that of a 2nd line (or high end 3rd line) grinding 200 foot player. As long as his contract is in line with his production, no reason to move him. Every team needs what he provides. Now will he ever be a 80-90 point player? Probably not. But I can see him develop as a Selke candidate. Bob Gainey never registered beyond the 40's in points- yet every team would have loved to have his services.

I had this same thought earlier today when I saw Kakko was moved down to the third line. I don't know if it will happen or if it would be a 1 for 1, but I think there is logic behind it. As a Rangers fan in Columbus, these are 2 players I've seen plenty of.
Kakko has proven he can play at the NHL level and is adept in the defensive zone, but has only shown flashes of offense and maybe playing with someone like Laine for Fantilli would help him.
Johnson is looking more like a guy on the outside looking in, very talented but other guys have caught up and passed him.
Both guys would probably benefit from a change of scenery, even if *this* isn't the right trade,

I'm not saying no out of hand, but I'm going to need to see arguments for doing this from Columbus's POV.

bring up othmann
As someone who watches Hartford games, he better not be playing 10 mins a night with no PP. idc if there is no room for him, make room. NY cannot ruin him like they have with so many other guys recently.
He is super skilled and is ready to play 14-17 minutes a night with powerplay, easily.

opening night if othmann crack the lineup
I like this a lot. This year is going to determine if they are legit or not. If they can make the playoffs (which i think they will) and they can move out of the first round I think that will prove a lot, but I think Panarin will regress a bit, I do not think Laf is ready to be on the top line and I expect them to live or die by the powerplay again
