Gonna say the same thing to everyone else unaware that decides to sign Ejdsell. The Hawks do own his rights, but he signed in Sweden. He's not coming back this year...if ever. And he wasn't good anyway.
Perlini isn't signing 3 years at that price. Hawks probably aren't sure they want him that long. And it's not enough to entice him to sign that long. He probably wants 2mil for 2 years.
Hicketts is an AHL defenseman. Givani Smith is the equivalent to Graham Knott. Connor Murphy is a valuable dman, regardless of what some say because he isn't fast and doesn't bring offense. He was their best Defensive dman. Just an AWFUL trade for the Hawks.
Anisimov for Vatrano, I'd take Anisimov if we're ignoring salary. Greco is a career AHLer. Anisimov can play center or wing, has size, and can play PK. Entwistle was a PPG OHL player with size. And isn't even 20. And you throw in a 2nd on top of it? Insanity!
You have Kane on the left side. A position he has never played. That makes sense. You have Duncan Keith on the right side. A side he has never played. BRILLIANT!

Hawks got lucky in picking 3rd overall. They were willing to move back to 10 if someone took Seabrook. No dice. Sure they get 2 players in your deal. Tatar had a career year last year. But he had a really down year the year prior. Danault should be a 3c. Dach may be that right now. Why would the Hawks want to trade the best prospect they have just to shed dump a contract when there could very well be a compliance buyout coming. Why would Montreal dump 2 useful players for 1 prospect and 1 cap dump and a player that everyone is unsure about in Perlini.

I knew that was coming back at me with AHL production. I definitely think the Hawks should have gotten at least a pick in return. But I'm not ready to throw in the towel that he's a bust. Then again I'm the same one who thought Marko Dano could have been the best player (based on his possession stats in Columbus) in the first Brandon Saad trade.

I'm willing to let them play out. Remember the Arizona trade? Everyone thought Strome was a bust and Perlini was the better player coming back and was upset they let Schmaltz go. Not a fan of it immediately but will concede to Nylander that he was hampered by a groin injury and he might pan out. Will also mention that after the first 12-15 games Jokiharju wasn't really that good. And didn't really show up at the world championships either. I just remember a scout saying "he got hit early, then was scared sh!tless".

I don't like the deal. But willing to give it a chance. I do think Jokiharju was massively over rated by Hawks fans. People get enamored with possession stats. He had a good 12-15 games. But then was bad. He underwhelmed at the world championships as well.

Dach makes team Anisimov traded
The reason behind keeping Kane and Debrincat separated is the lack of defense that the line plays. You'd rely on Strome to do something he's not all that good at anyway more. Sure they'd put the puck in the net a lot. But they puck would also end up in the Hawks net a lot too.

Blackhawks W Dach Trade Anisimov
Get Caggiula off the top line and then we'll discuss. He's a very good bottom 6 player. I don't care about "chemistry". His linemates whether it's Kane or Toews or McDavid or Draisatl produce and he just doesn't. At least not to an adequate level to be a top line player. There's better options. Chicago now has those options. Edmonton didn't.
But man am I glad they have Caggiula over Brandon Manning.

Hawks Lines
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jco5ta5</b></div><div>Anisimov or Murphy easiest to trade, especially if they think the D prospects like Joker and Boqvist are ready.</div></div>
Boqvist isn't ready. Offensively he is. Defensively...well they already have Gustafsson. There was talk between the Hawks and London in moving him to Forward.
As for the lines... Perlini probably gets traded with Anisimov/Murphy/Gustafsson/Jokiharju (rumors have been building he's fallen out of favor)
They didn't sign Ryan Carpenter to scratch him. He's your 4c. Shaw on the 4th line behind Sikura is dumb.
If they keep Anisimov and Dach (highly unlikely both stay, both gone is probably more likely.) The Hawks have some size down the middle! As well as being not so fleet of foot. Dach apparently isn't slow.. just not so quick. I worry about his faceoff numbers.
Kubalik-Toews-Kane
Debrincat-Strome-Saad
Saarela-Anisimov-Shaw
Caggiula-Carpenter-Kampf
Maybe swap out Quenneville for Saarela. Or if Dach impresses slide Anisimov to the left.
Keith-Gus
Maatta- Murphy
DeHaan-Seabrook
I'm not opposed to trading Gus. I think his riverboat gambler style is what made Keith bad defensively. I'm not sure Colliton is sold on Jokiharju though. Jokiharju didn't really stand out too much at the world championships. He started off hot with the Hawks...then fizzled. He needs to get stronger this summer and play with confidence. A scout said 'he got hit early, then was scared sh!tless."

He's not a salary dump. He's a useful middle six player. He's a streaky power forward that can take over a game when he wants to and can PK.

Have you actually looked at the Vegas roster? They have 1 goalie and 6 d with Murphy. They have 3 centers. Even after trading Clarkson and assuming dansk is number 2 they have 800k in space. That's without signing two of their RFA'S. One will want a little over a million in Jimmy Schuldt. The other will want 3million plus in Nikita Gusev. They can't realistically trade Eakin with only 3 centers. Once they call up Glass they're over. Without Clarksons deal and before Gusev and Schuldt.
Adding salary in any trade before the season starts isnt going to happen.

If u look at our d-man prospects so few isn’t the right words, why send jokiharju down if he’s good enough to play, idk why u would prefer Gus over Murphy but like okay i guess so, buying out Määttä after trading for him is somthing I don’t think Chicago will do, and my bad I didn’t know de Haan was injured for that long, also I can see it now, Gus becomes one of the best d-men in the league and all the hawk fans starting blaming bowman for trading him when literally everyone was saying trade him,we will have space for cat, strome, and probably Gus too, if we lose anisimovs contract, Murphy’s, Crawford’s, and find a way to lose seabs then we can keep our top Offensive defensman</div></div>
The chances are slim Gustafson can repeat the offensive production and his defense is an absolute liability...still. he can be a game breaker ...for both side of the ice. But his offensive production is enticing and someone will value him higher than Murphy. He'll want 6+ million. Something the Hawks can't offer. That's why you trade him.

Again, Vegas wants to shed salary. They are over the cap already. They need dollars gone. I get that hed be valuable to them. But this doesn't help them get salary compliant. They're saying they might trade Gusev because they don't have enough space. Adding Murphy who makes more than Reaves doesn't help them become cap compliant. It puts it further out of reach.
I proposed trading Gus to Vegas for Gusev who will want 3-4 million.

Anisimov and Faksa are pretty similar. Only one is younger and cheaper. Dallas laughs at the offer.
The whole point for Vegas trading Reaves would be to shed salary... This adds salary.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RamonDaze</b></div><div>Cap Space is not a player. It could be a player, but Cap Space does not check anyone, score goals, etc. If one is going to propose a cap dump trade, feel free to use it to say sign Dzingel or trade for Gusev, etc.
The Blackhawks are not in cap hell anymore. After years of being up against the cap, I know it's tough to adjust to this new reality, even if they have trouble next offseason with Strome & Debrincat plus goalie. There's a new CBA coming, where there might be a new buyout. There's going to be a new TV deal in a few years which should push the cap up higher. What I'm getting at is by the time the Blackhawks have put enough of a sweetener for another team to take on Seabrook's cap hit & play him on bottom pair, it's not really worth it for the Blackhawks, especially because it's not really a pressing issue & it's likely going to become less of an issue in a few years.
I don't</div></div>
The Hawks have a million in cap space. They have 11 million coming off the books next year, but they need to spend 15 million to resign Strome and Debrincat. Theyll have to trade one of Saad, Anisimov, or Seabrook to make it work as it is. You'd have to trade Anisimov to sign Dzingel. Theyre not in cap hell...but they dont have the spaced to sign a 5mil player.
