JuniorGM:

Its great to wish and hope but Winnipeg is in a position thats not desirable. No contract and a player that requests a trade. Typically in the past, If a team hasn't jumped on board yet, the trade may not be as desirable as one would like.... Paul Coffey held out for a few 100k in 87(a lot back then) and was moved for Benning, Jeff Chychrun and a first (Jason Bowen)... Hardly a good deal looking back. Larmer also held out in 1993-94 in which he was traded with Bryan Marchment to Hartford for Patrick Poulin and Eric Weinrich ... then traded to the Rangers from Hartford in a 3 way deal. Pavel Bure requested a trade in 1997 in which he was then traded for Jovo, Gagner, Mike Brown and Kevin Weekes. There were some that worked out such as the Yashin request and the Primeau deal. but typically you get Kesler like deals where u receive Bonino and Sbisa.

Anyways, Arizona is a building team from youth up. Trading Chychrun who was once ranked in the top 5 for prospects + Duclair + Reider is a bit much... thats 3 solid core pieces for a blossoming young team. If I was Arizona, I wouldn't take that deal ever. Why would I want a guy like Trouba that at a young age of 20 or 21 w.e he is on my club, when he requests a trade publicly? I don't want that attitude in my locker room... What happens when he doesnt get the minutes or plays like crap ? Is he going to request a trade ? Not to mention, he wants big $$. At no point would I trade a standout prospect with under a million cap hit for 3 seasons, in a money deficit hockey city + a cheap quality forward in Duclair(who also looks great and comin along) + Reider.... who also has great 2 way stats for and attitude and money driven player that wants it my way or the high way.
