Based on your trade, its clear you know nothing about the Rangers or their prospects.</div></div>
So say if Eichel is still a sabre come deadline time. And Kakko has his normal horrible point production I’m sure Kakko will be in trade talks again.

I personally would've liked Tkachuk in the deal, but I don't see that being possible. Quite frankly, this deal is light years better then anything the Rangers can offer</div></div>
Its funny too because at the time I was offering #12 instead of the 2022 pick as well.
Would you prefer Zary or Coronato?

I’d probably replace Coronato with the 2022 1st and Valimaki with Zary (they need C prospects much more than LD and I think they might prefer to pick their own guy next year over Coronato) but yeah this is about right.

Sign him for 1 year for $8M and retain 50% at TDL when there is a bidding war and cost certainty. There's risk but it's less embarrassing than this deal. Just not good asset management.</div></div>
I agree that- worst case, you could have gotten at least this at the deadline. We are hoping that the pick is either pushed to 23 outright, or between picks 11 and 15. Chances are, if we are dealing him at the deadline to a playoff team, its in the 20s. And Florida already hedged their bets, the only way they get screwed is if the pick gets pushed and somehow becomes the Bedard pick. I guess what I would've wanted from this was a better forward prospect too, with or without the panthers 3rd ranked goalie prospect. Trying to be objective here, we got roughly what the rags got for buchnevich (unless you really like blais), its a return on a rental.

I was surprised when I started seeing fantastic returns- he basically had to agree to an extension for us to get max value, and I'm sure he and his agent have every intention of getting him the best contract possible in the best situation, getting buffalo a sweet return wasn't a concern. Eichel is on a different level. It's apples and oranges. I want one prime piece for eichel, I suspect the adams settles for a quantity deal- the quality of which is what he will be judged on.</div></div>

As far as Johnson goes, I'm not as high on him as you are. Dillon is a solid 3-4 d man</div></div>
I like Dillon, But clearly not as much as you do. I think Johnson could be a top 4 defenseman, that doesn’t mean we wouldn’t trade him, especially since we have so many left-handed defenseman in our system. But if we’re going to trade him I think it’s in a bigger deal than just getting a veteran left-handed defender that will be quickly out of place if we want to give the youngsters more ice time. I’m thinking more like we used to Keith Ballard as part of the deal to get us Chris Drury All those years ago.

Eichel to the Wild
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BuFfaLOFaN</b></div><div>Johnson is a bottom 6 talent, Quin has been lack luster and a horrible pick, Bryson looks ok, Peterka the most promising IMO, UPL could be great but he's a goalie. Rossi, Addison, and Boldy are studs and we don't have that, we. Would have had Rossi if we didn't have an incompetent GM and scouting department</div></div>
There is that though.
But to be fair to Adams, BUF already has Cozens. Like Rossi he's in that high-end 2C/low-end 1C range of prospect tier. Behind a #1 center in Eichel, they would've been vying for the exact same 2C spot. Which would of pushed one them into either a 3C role or a top-six winger role, which is a waste of a talented center that deserves to be played in the top-six center position.
Which is why I continue to think Boldy is the smarter option for Buffalo, and not necessarily Rossi.

Eichel to the Ducks not for Zegras
I really like the trades but I'm still somewhat confused on the point of this ACGM. Is it to rebuild the Sabres? Because if so I don't see the point in signing all these players but If it's to make this team competitive, I still don't think it's a contender. Don't get me wrong, they're good, but not contender status. I think you did a really good job of overpaying free agents to get them to come to Buffalo (maybe except for Hyman), but I don't think that Dahlin or Comtois take those contracts fro more than a year or two.

Reinhart is going to cost at least $7 million. I would also say that you have to include an NHL ready forward prospect in the deal as well, Eriksson is not replacing Reinhart in Buffalo‘s lineup.

From an article talking about Ducks trade options this off-season (specifically mentions Eichel)
Like it or not Sabres arent getting either of them</div></div>
There are most likely 8-10 legit contenders for Eichel. If the Ducks wont give up either, then GMKA wont do a trade with them. There are not a lack of options for the Sabres here. Columbus, LA, Minnesota and Philly can put together better offers. The only way this Ducks/Sabres speculation is heatinf up is that the Ducks are willing to move either Drysdale or Zegras, or they are willing to send 3 or 4 1st/2nd Rd picks.

Paying Reimer more than Ullmark? 3 years for Reimer with UPL a half season away from being NHL ready nand Ullmarks backup?
If GMKA sends Eichel to Ducks without getting Zegras or Dysdale back, I will become a Kraken fan. I dont believe Zegras or Dyrsdale are untouchable, especially with Eichel being the prize.
