Comments Pens Fans
I want to believe that pettersson will get dealt still but that’s highly unlikely now…
I think POJ is the odd man out as hextall might move him for a young forward… idk
Sullivan has shown an increased willingness to play D on their off side the last couple years so I think they don’t see the D as a logjam rn even tho it kinda is… all of a sudden, 6 of the 9 penguins D were either signed, extended, or traded for by hextall… he’s completely reshaped the D…
I hate the lack of forward depth tho… we have like 7 4th liners but no one to provide offense on the third line with carter… I’d bring back Aston Reese or get johan Larson (what’s up with that not happening?) to complete the 4th line with blueger and McGinn
Archibald is a 14th forward imo
Heinen or Rodrigues I’d take back just bc we know them but for cheap… I’d like a sonny Milano type or a Lawson crowse to get maybe a lil offense in the bottom-6
Bc O’Connor and zohorna are on one way deals they prob get a shot but I don’t like just penciling them in right now to complete the roster and calling it a day… hextall just did more the last 2 weeks than the previous 2 years… my fear is he thinks his work is done… bc it’s not

Thoughts Oilers Fans
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Pens3lieve</b></div><div>forget oilers fans... i'm diehard black and gold and lowkey that trade doesn't work for either side...
hextall has committed to jarry and unless we have a viable replacement he's not going anywhere any time soon....
campbell is overrated but will get a bigger contract then that for sure...
id be interested in Puljjjjjjjarvi (sp) but not involving jarry...
doubt EDM wants to move RNH also</div></div>
RNH has control over this, given his NMC, and it seems highly unlikely he would agree to the trade. He's the longest tenured Oiler and after suffering years of mediocrity he must be pretty excited about the future in Edmonton. Surely the discounted salary and maximum term he agreed to are indications that he intends to retire an Oiler.
I think Ken Holland would prefer to hang onto Puljujarvi, as long as there is willingness to accept reasonable contractual terms. Another "show-me", seems to be in the best interest of the team, and its difficult to project whether JP is willing to accept that. If he's not, then there is a significant risk of another GM tendering an offer sheet. I would not be surprised to learn that there have already been some pretty direct conversations between Holland the JP's agent.
Edmonton is probably looking for a starting goaltender, and I suspect Holland will look for the most advantageous combination of team control, experience, performance, and AAV. Jarry certainly presents as a very good target, but there are others that might be equally suitable, or an even better fit.

Ultra Realistic
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheMoose</b></div><div>Ya I think Rackell puts up 35 goals in a full season with this team providing everyone healthy. And Zucker $ isn’t moving probably so he’s gotta step up. Either way i think Penguins might have toughest off-season of any team in the league</div></div>
Rakell easily puts 35-40 up if he finds his way onto Sid’s line.
I think zucker can get back to where he was if he can stay healthy. We saw how much he wants to win this playoffs - playing through that injury being held together by clear tape and Elmer’s glue. If not he only has one year left.
The penguins have maybe the highest risk highest reward off-season in the league. They could be transformed into cup contenders or a fringe playoff team. As long as Hextall resigns the right guys (not hard) makes a cap dump or two (not hard) gets Malkin legit wingers (not hard) and gets a dependable backup goalie (not hard) while getting the team a bit younger, faster, and tougher by adding the right bottom of the lineup guys (not hard) the team is a cup contender. It will come down to if he is bold enough to make some moves, primarily the cap dumps
