<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PhatRas</b></div><div>No.. not at all really. Flames fan base has been increasingly whiney for the past couple years, north division is under a microscope this year and it creates a whole lot of stupid.
To speak to my earlier comment, the Flames group clearly pushes out any coach they want and the fan base is willing to turn on a coach in a second, why would an elite coach come to a team where none of the last 3 coaches have had more than a 2 year tenure?</div></div>

First of all you can't really put Peters into that conversation because he left due to his own actions prior to being with the flames. he would have been relieved of his duties no matter what team he was employed with when that news came out. It's clear that Ward isn't an NHL caliber head coach and imo shouldn't have ever been promoted. Guly was an experiment and it didn't work out. That happens from time to time. I think this team has potential to be a contending team and thats why an elite coach could be intrigued to come here. Everyone forgets this team is 2 years removed from winning the west. Put a proper experienced NHL coach behind the bench a few more small pieces and this team is a continuous contender yr after yr. Sutter can def be that guy. 2 Stanley cup championships. 1 cup loss. 1 Western final loss. He almost won 3 cups back to back to back. CGY has good pieces, why wouldn't an elite coach want to try and turn the corner? because the fans are passionate and want better?
