After I finalized the build, I'd probably let Kampf walk, trade Calle, and then I'd have some work to do ;)

Gavrikov, Vladislav off by at least 2 million and too little term
3 $3,250,000

Domi, Max
2 $4,000,000 possible if he wants to go to TO
Buyouts</div></div>
We'll see what happens! Noel might be closer to $2M-$2.25M tops, I doubt Luke goes for above $2M, and no way Kampf is near $3M. If Burt wants 5-7, with his injury history, you run the other way. And for Domi - bingo - its the price for wanting to play in TO + his pts. this year were much higher than his career avgs.

Remade without Mitch
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>Canes decline. Necas gives 75% of the production at 25% of the price, Nikishin just had the best season in KHL history by a D man. This is not worth it. You want this kind of package it needs to be a goal scorer, that means Matthews. Seeing as that's going to get rejected (rightfully so) there's no deal here to be made</div></div>
Necas is going to need a new contract, as will Pesce - I don't think the Canes can afford to keep all of their core pieces - same issue as the Leafs. Also, Nikishin might never come to this side of the pond and we have no idea how his skill will translate in NA - still just a prospect.

Nashville Trade: Overpayment by Edmonton - I would assume the 2 1sts are for Ekholm and the players for Jeannot. Seems like a lot to give up...
Chicago Trade: Underpayment - getting those 2 players is going to cost more than some lower-end draft picks + Jesse who should be heading to waivers. Chicago declines.

Richard
CBJ trade would be tough to swallow, but potentially getting Peeke is an interesting idea.
Trade with the Ducks is a massive overpayment IMO - Comtois hasn't done anything this year & there's the dark cloud regarding the Juniors team still swirling around him. Engvall has 21pts so far Vs. Comtois' 9pts - he's also a -14 (but on a bad team) and Voit looks like a gamer. Quite frankly, you could probably get him for just a solid prospect (like Voit) and a 3rd or 4th round pick and keep Engvall for the playoffs, or use the package ++ for a better player who will make more of an impact.

Tough to tell - Holl may be considered a top-4 by some teams - what's that worth? Most likely it would be a 3rd (if he's re-signing with said team).

As a Leafs fan, even I can't stand by these deals - Jakob C. will end up going for much more than that (add in Sandin as an example), Konecny deal actually might be a bit of an overpayment, St. Louis deal isn't enough, and Holl won't fetch us 2 picks. Not bad starts, just need to be doused with reality a bit.

To the Promise Land
Bad for Toronto - really? If the goal is to go all in and try to win the cup this year, I'm not sure this is bad for them. The 4 regulars - Ker is done after this year, Holl is expendable, Morgan's not worth his contract or the length of it and gets replaced in the process, Engvall is also replaceable and al of the prospects are just that - prospects. Dubas has to go big this year if they plan on contending.

Really? A re-building team is declining a young, cost-controlled D, a B-level prospect, and a second round pick for a D who is about to cross into his 30's? I doubt they would decline this - or maybe TML's throw in another prospect for the hell of it. that being said, what do you think McCabe would cost?

Fair and well thought out point. That being said - if the Leafs go after him, its more likely (to your point :)) that they eat the full salary and dump additional contracts to make room for him.

Simple - because I can see the Sharks potentially re-signing someone like Envgall more than Kerfoot and he's 2 years younger. Again - I get what you're saying about the salary dump, but Sharks are also looking to get assets - so if its a 'dump' that may also present a signing opportunity, its a much better move to make. Kerfoot seems to have 'negative value' these days!

Vancouver is one of the worst teams at making good deals for their team - so not sure I'd use them as a positive example.
