Lol.
& to the original poster, Colorado says no. Avs are already set with 2 better options at centre in their top 6. PLD also doesn't want to play the wing so you're basically trading a top prospect for a 3C. Hard pass from Colorado.

Pretty easy to turn any team in to a cup contender when you go on your xbox and turn on, “accept all trades.” That’s the only way these absolutely brutal offers would get through.

thats a big nope from the Avs
and no he is not a rental, do you think one of the smartest and top Front offices in the league dont have a plan for Toews especially when there was UFA Dman to still sign. They dont trade 2 2nds and give him a 4 year deal thinking hes a rental and cant keep him. They either know and will have EJ exposed by waiving his NMC.

I put Tatar because money has to go the other way to make the trade work.

If they had only been able to pull this off
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Nikolay_Zherdev</b></div><div>Bro that’s just pointless this was a rumored deal that the avs didn’t want to make. Don’t talk about stupidity that revolves around nothing. Saying Jt for kakko is baseless. Whether or not the Kreider deal happened doesn’t change the fact that their was interest for both sides but the price was too steep</div></div>
There was no newhook for Kreider rumour. Maybe look in the mirror when you start talking about baseless statements bc that deal was never ever discussed or a rumour.
The only "rumour" was that the Rangers wanted the 16th overall pick from the Avs that one offseason and they didnt entertain it for a second.
So Newhook for kreider was never a rumour bc it was a draft pick, Rangers could have selected Thomas Harley or anyone else after that...draft pick doest mean same selection. Rangers over valued Krieder in trying to move him twice.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Theozler</b></div><div>I actually seem to recall this rumour, scary</div></div>
Rangers asked, Sakic said no they arent moving their 1st that year, it was pretty closed case, they were discussion making a deal for last years pick which would have been Barron instead.
Sakic and Co walked away pretty quickly from the Rangers talk since they wanted an over payment with that years pick. In reality if Avs gave up that pick to the Rangers they were getting more than Kreider back

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xqb15</b></div><div>Tough ask? There is the narrative that somehow got picked up that COL got crappy goal tending last year, team save percentage last year was 3rd in the NHL. Grubauer has a regular season save percentage in COL of .916 and a .924 in the playoffs. Now you want to question him staying healthy sure but I guess it is a testament to how good the Avs have become that this is the case but let’s at least try to have some facts in there.</div></div>
This is the narrative that will just not go away, isn't it? People mistaking injury for poor play. That being said, I sure hope they can stay healthy!

Cup Run
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Duggysdanglers</b></div><div>I would honestly give him the usual taste of the NHL with 5 or 6 games this year without burning a year off of his ELC. I’d try and keep in on his ELC for as long as possible because Colorado will eventually run into Cap issues as the team gets better.</div></div>
As does every team competing for the cup, but if you have to burn a year of his ELC to win the cup, you do it. EJ's contract will be up by that point, as will Graves' deal, so there will be plenty of room for his next contract. If he's AHL eligible, then yes, play him as much as possible down there, but he's good enough for the NHL.

If Johnson Waives
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xqb15</b></div><div>Johnson is waiving or getting bought out because Toews is getting protected along with Makar and Girard. No way COL does 4-4-1 because then they are losing Burakovsky. Seattle is picking from Graves, Donskoi, Compher or Francouz because Sakic is going to want to have a contract picked for cap space. Also the Avs are going to do whatever it takes to sign Makar to an 8yr deal because even if it is $10M he is 1 the 2nd most important player on the team and 2 $10M in 3 years while not a bargain is going to look a lot better than having to do another extension for him one year after giving MacKinnon his monster deal. Also Anderson isn’t the answer and he sure isn’t getting a $1m more AAV than Lehner.</div></div>
My sense is that Bura could be the one to be left unprotected if they went 8 skaters (if EJ doesn't waive). If they had him in their long-term plan, they would have signed him to a longer deal; I bet Bura would have taken 4 years around same price or maybe even less.
A buyout of EJ, should he not waive (I believe he will), is a terrible idea in a flat cap situation, with big contracts to hand out and in a window of contention. They just cannot afford that much dead money while trying to win Cups.
Agree about Anderson - dude just can't seem to get it done in the playoffs. If Gru stays healthy and plays well in the playoffs (hopefully winning a Cup), he's the guy for the foreseeable future.
It's going to be interesting to see what happens with Makar (and Hughes and Heiskanen for that matter) this year given the flat cap and each team's financial situation (Avs are in the best shape so far as I can tell). Locking him in for 8 years would be ideal but Chabot set the market high and Makar (and Hughes and Heiskanen) are more valuable so they may want to sign bridge deals and hope the cap goes up in a few years so they can get more money.

Does Byram Play Opening Night
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>justaBoss</b></div><div>Probably not. Why waste a year of his ELC if he has to play the role of 6th D in that dynasty roster.
I'd personally bring him in in 2021-22</div></div>
There is no benefit of him in the whl, that doesn’t help his development,
If he beats out ian cole for the 6th Spot, let him play. They brought him into the bubble in the playoffs, the coaching staff has a pretty good idea what they have in him right now, ice your best roster possible and that’s with byram

Good write up on Byram, I wonder now all the guys who post on here who were bashing Byram as hes not very good bc he had a slow start to Oct to Dec 2019...maybe dont cherry pick a few months out of a prospects development?
Drew Helleson out of all he Avs prospect has been the biggest shocker in terms of the Team Prospects , He has looked rock solid and is producing offensive at a level normally wouldnt expect.
