Thoughts on what Pickard would re-sign for? Also, he's 32 and this was the first time he played more than 11 games since 2016/2017...

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SolarHarbor</b></div><div>agree im not sure Jarry would be better, just saying a buyout would be dumb
"The cap is going to go up 4-5 million each year for the years ahead" could you link the source for this please?</div></div>
I just used Edmonton as the first team I could find that could use another goalie and would have a bad goalie contract to trade in return. Jarry is absolutely a 1B at worst and he really wasn't that injury-prone this season. He was doing quite well (~15-20 range) UNTIL the team fell apart around the trade deadline. Also, supposedly one of the main reasons he didn't start the last 13 games is because he stared down Marcus Pettersson for like 5 seconds in the Dallas game on March 22 after a puck got deflected by him and went in and it caused some locker room issues. He's a prime change of scenery candidate.
And for Edmonton, this would give them with a goalie room costing $9.9M. Right now it's $6.45M with Skinner and Campbell's buried $3.85M so they'd need to grab another NHL-caliber goalie. Do you think you can find another goalie to be Skinner's 1B for less than $3.5M?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>craiga</b></div><div>Vegas will be 10m over the cap this summer, they dont want to make it 13m lol</div></div>
I'm looking at Vegas' cap situation next season, they're a little thin at LW at the moment and have between $5-6M in cap space without re-signing any of their UFAs. Mantha, Marchessault, Martinez, and Stephenson are all likely out of their price range. Mantha perhaps could take a discount to stay with them, but Reilly Smith at $3M with the retention would absolutely fit in their cap for next season.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>edeangel84</b></div><div>Wait that’s a common trade? Usually it’s Smith to Vegas or Florida again</div></div>
And I think you could add up to 50% retention in the offseason, it didn't seem like any forwards with term were getting traded (Hertl aside) at the trade deadline.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Pags71</b></div><div>Paying Husso more than our All Star starter probably doesn't go over too well.</div></div>
Yeah, the Husso thing is a hedge against it being the last year of Jarry's contract and the absolute dearth of UFA goalies on the market unless you want to revisit Casey DeSmith/Louie Domingue. While I am definitely a fan of Jarry's, I'm still nervous about what his next contract looks like. Aside from losing in the 1st round again, a lowkey bigger negative was not getting to see how Jarry was going to perform in the playoffs (I'm not counting coming into Game 7 cold after a month off).

Yeah, LAK was kind of a placeholder, I think Dumoulin is a positive asset (i.e. won't have to sweeten the pot to trade him) but his value may not be much more than a 4th/5th (again, wishful thinking).

I think it's more likely than not that Burke is gone with the new ownership situation.

Maybe Zucker+4th or 5th to Arizona instead? Only one year left on the contract so it wouldn't be too onerous?

And definitely wishful thinking that Zucker could be traded for anything (including a 7th).

I was thinking more because Rutherford loves him some Zucker but it would be interesting to see how much Allvin is running the show.

A paper move of Maatta to WBS or waiving Farnham is required so that Fehr, Dupuis, and Kuhnhackl can go on LTIR.
