Your team just got a 2nd and 2 3rds for taking ladds whole contract. Youre hardly getting anything for eating 25% of Jones, most of that return is for Dvorak</div></div>
Still, Coyotes pass. They can get a first and a decent prospect for Dvorak in a different deal

They can get much more value for Dvorak elsewhere. Again pick 32 and a 4th to eat salary doesn’t move the needle in my opinion

Arizona says no. Why are they giving Dvorak to CBJ for free and then doing them another favor by eating half of Jones contract? Moving to 32 in the draft isn’t worth that

I generally agree, but if there was ever a year where some higher end talent may slip through the cracks it would be this year with scouting being so weird due to COVID.

That’s not what’s been reported at this point, but Garland does fit your guys timeline pretty well. I’m not so sure that the coyotes are going to trade Garland like everyone else on this website. What would you add to the deal to get him?

(ARI/SJS) - Hill and 2022 7th for Korenar and 2022 2nd
Armstrong pulls in a second round pick for an unproven goalie likely Seattle bound anyway, SJ gets a good young goalie that they’re able to protect in expansion draft. The fact that it’s a second round pick makes this a win for AZ but it’s a solid deal for both sides IMO

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kopitar11</b></div><div>The trade is built around 2 1st round picks, which have very good value,if you think Chychrun is worth Byfield you're overvaluing him. However if Arizona decides to blow it up,draft Lambert and Michkov for example,or Wright and Bedard, then this kind of a deal would only benefit them. They could build a better team than what they have in 2 years time.</div></div>
8 is a good pick but it’s a weak draft class and uncertainty in scouting because of Covid. There’s a chance that LA’s pick isn’t even in the lottery next season, so I wouldn’t value that too highly. In either case there’s no guarantee that the players selected with those picks, or the Coyotes pick next year (which may not be 1OA), pan out and turn into good players. Chychrun is guaranteed to be a coyote for 4 more seasons if they keep him with the possibility of more if we resign him. If he was on an expiring contract or if it was done in 2 seasons maybe they consider trading him. But 4 more years of a Norris candidate on your team is worth more than 2 lottery tickets in the draft

Chychrun to LA
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kopitar11</b></div><div>Well,they are no longer division rivals,I dont see them ever moving Chychrun, but I wanted to exploit the value,8th OVR + Madden=Turcotte,Clague+1st=Anderson,2 2nds + Durzi + Grundstrom = 1st,so I don't see how the value is off,if anything it gives Arizona organizational depth and draft picks which they have forfeited. This trade would only make sense if Coyotes decided to rebuild, which wouldn't be a bad idea,as it is they are stuck in mediocrity for years to come, with Chychrun or without him.</div></div>
Chychrun is signed for the next 4 seasons for 4.6 mil and he just came in 10th in Norris voting. He’s a piece you build around, not trade.
As far as your valuations go, it’s the definition of quality over quantity. You don’t want to give those better pieces up because you’d rather have them than the pile of average prospects and good picks that you proposed in this deal. That’s exactly why the Coyotes would say no and hold out for something better. Chychrun would only ever be traded for a young future/current #1 center.
And as far as divisions go, it doesn’t matter. Phoenix and Los Angeles are still geographically aligned and other than the NHL next year the rest of our sports teams play LA teams in division. Calling it a rivalry is a stretch because I don’t think Los Angeles views any of our teams that way but Arizona sports fans hate LA sports teams. The worst way to build a fan base would be to send your best player to your “rival”, especially for an underwhelming package.

Why would the coyotes ever trade their best player in years to the Kings. Like even if he was available it would be a crime against Phoenix sports fans to send a top player to a Los Angeles team. The trade proposed above is much closer in terms of value but I don’t think the coyotes are budging off Chychrun unless Byfield is involved

He hasn't been the same since he signed that extension. I get that a change of scenery could help both sides, but would you be willing to take that chance if you're Bergevin? Especially with that contract he has. Besides we don't reed to load up on our left side d anyway, and if we do we can sign oleksiak, dunn or ekholm.</div></div>
OEL>Oleksiak
The rest of those guys are going to cost way more to acquire.
I’d happily take a flyer on a 29 year old defenseman if this is the price. He can still put up 60 points and play decent enough defense to be worth at least $6 mil, coyotes can retain some money if need be
