How many teams took that penalty last year for the Perf. Bonus overage? Wouldn't be concerned. Lots of teams will run a 21 man roster next year with a flat cap.

Wouldn't be so sure that those 2 Swedes starting playing 20+ miniutes a night. Sandin maybe. Liljegren hasn't proven much.

Dillon is gonna get more and I don't think the Sabres should be giving up their 2nd for a rental even though the Sabres blow their 2nd round picks usually.. Lol</div></div>
Good point. I know in Ottawa he filled in from time to time but was mostly wing. Colorado picked him partly because Kadri went down, who's a natural centre. So he seems to bring some versatility, but isn't a natural C. With Johannsen's deal up after next year he could flip back to LW if Cozens is ready to go. It's certainly a risk.

Backlund's good. Very under rated league wide. Would be a perfect fit for Sabres. Ryan only has 1 year left so you're not taking on much, and he's consistent as well.

Brandon Montour's available. Plays the right side.

McCabe has only played on the left. Good trade idea but Sabres probably decline only because they presently have only 2 left D who can play in the NHL. McCabe and Dahlin. Bryson is close in Rochester but needs another year. McCabe is the type of Dman the Leafs could use though; kind of like Muzzin but less skilled offensively. Makes gigantic hits from time to time.

McCabe's easily worth a 3rd. Very under-rated for what he does. Tops in blocked shots and other possession metrics for Sabres D

Imagine Cozens learning his first year at 1RW beside Eichel. I think they have to put him there. Put 23 and 68 on the second line with a weaker 2C. Skinner needs to be back with Eichel too to make that contract up.

Agree hope by season end he's at 2C but I can see them starting him on the wing. Stamkos started on the wing, as did MacKinnon.

Lower Cap CBO Mantha Cirelli Trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DiehardRedWingsFan58</b></div><div>So let me get this straight, We trade Mantha for 2 years of Ristolainen that we don't need and could walk in two season. A 34 year old back up. A guy that has a few NHL games under his belt and a 2nd and 4th round pick. Pretty much garbage to a divisional team. Detroit doesn't have to move Mantha for scraps. And yeah sorry this is scraps. Ristolainen is a one dimensional RD we already gave one of those players up in AA. Yeah sorry doesn't move the needle for Detroit and without buffalo's 1st round pick coming our way don't even ask.</div></div>
yeah forgot Mantha is blowing down the league. If Mantha has another 40 point season you'll be lucky to get half this much.

Pretty sure he's proving himself and Seider will be better on the defensive end then Ristolainen. And Lindstrom is a solid shut down bottom pairing RD we will be fine. Sorry we don't need Risto and Mantha isn't getting moved for a RD that could walk in 2 years.</div></div>
hahaha. Okay. Talk to us when Hronek has actually played a full season. Not some projection crap. You're talking about a guy that's put up 4 straight 40 point season's. Both Seider and Lindstrom could be in the AHL all year next year. Pretty sure Stevie Y is going to want a proven commodity on the back end. By the way when did Anthony Mantha become some super star? He's a "good" top 6 forward who's never hit 50 points in his career. He's not even as good as Reinhart. Let's not get carried away here....

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DiehardRedWingsFan58</b></div><div>Why would Detroit give up long term years of Mantha for two years of Rasmus Ristolainen? That trade does us no good as we are set at RD for the foreseeable future. With Hronek, Seider and possibly Lindstrom and other RDs within our organization. No way Yzerman deals Mantha within the division without a 1st round pick coming back. That's not even remotely happening. I'm for moving Mantha for the right price and Ristolainen isn't the right price. Detroit is set at RD plus we could draft Drysdale if we wanted to whom will be a better version of Ristolainen. Doubt Buffalo has what it takes to get Mantha. Sorry this doesn't move the needle for us.</div></div>
Yeah we thought our right side was set as well dude. Wouldn't put too much stock in Hronek Seider and Lindstrom until they actually prove something. Seider is a top prospect for sure. Ristolainen has been in the trenches for 5 years and is not some green kid off of Grand Rapids. Yzerman values experienced D as he did in Tampa.

If we could get mantha for that I would do it, maybe if they like Montour better than risto switch them but whichever d works do it + the other three assets.</div></div>
His underlying numbers have proved the offence. He doesn't get nearly as much PP time as the rest of the team and his defense is almost Selke level. Tampa would want more than the pick, guaranteed. Cirelli is proven and 22, those 18 year old kids are not.

I like both trade ideas however would expect TBL to want more considering Cirelli is practically a top 5 draft pick right now yet 4 years older.
