What exactly has Rust done to get more than Sheary? I don’t see it.</div></div>
you laugh at our top 4? Letang is still a top 10 dman in the league. Dumo had the best year out of all of them. Schultz has stepped up multiple times over the 3 years weve had him. and Maatta finally grew into the player we hoped for. besides schultz, those 3 are locked up for 5-6 years. im sure schultz would stay here too.
Rust has done more than Sheary by a long margin. better player, smarter, more physical, proven he can produce and be relied on. Sheary cracks under pressure and skates like a 3 year old learning to skate for the first time. he scared out there.

yes he does mainly because of how many forwards you have, not skill. hes still an amazing player, and a team like ARI or a young team with cap and needs leadership with skill would take him. Maybe Carolina or even Buffalo.

Fabbri is young, he had a good season, then got hurt. give him a 1 year deal anywheres from 2-3 mil as a "prove it to me" deal. he does good, sign him to a bigger deal. if not, sign him for 2-3 years for a cheaper price. Steen and Bouwmeester have value for some teams, its just whats the return. i think you could trade both without having to add.

You still haven't answered that question. Also, when Sheary played with Brassard or Sheahan, he was great, his speed was a great tool for the pens to use and they had some great shifts together, points don't tell the whole story</div></div>
no its not a downgrade but Guentzel is proven, Sheary isnt Sheary had one decent year, 2 bad playoffs and a below average year, Guentzel had a good year, an average year and 2 amazing playoffs for us. And no, i dont think Simon should be in the lineup. Good player, fast, smart, but no size or confidence yet but that comes with time. We rely on our depth to get points when Sid and Geno arent on the ice, thats why HBK was so dangerous cause it gave us 3 full 1st lines to rotate though. Rowney is fasr, stronger than Sheary and uses the body. Sheary is small and weak.

i mean Fabbri had a good year before getting hurt, at least 2-3 for a bridge deal imo.
Steen is still a viable top 6 forward, STL has too many forwards. you could trade Steen for a 1st at least or package him with a prospect for a actual goalie or dman and save Barbashev.

Guentzel has proven to be an NHLer, he isnt as weak or small as Sheary. Guentzel played with Malkin and Kessel as well and still performed. Sheary doesnt seem do be a factor when hes not with Sid, and most of the time gets in the way.

look at his stats, he played 61 games last year, 23 goals, 30 assists for 53 points, played the whole year with Sid.
this year played 18 more games, 79 games, 18 goals, 12 assists, 30 points. he was who he was cause of Sid.

Sheary is a proven goal scorer and NHLer? my 11 year old brother is the same size as him. Sheary constantly gets knocked down and off the puck causing turnovers. He scored those goals cause of Crosby. You think Pascal Dupuis or Chris Kunitz are 20-25-30 goal scorers? no, but when you have a generational talent like Crosby, guys find the back of the net. look at Patrick Maroon with McDavid. Sheary is clearly overpaid and is barely a NHLer, Sprong shouldve been in the lineup over him. Id take Rowney over Sheary.

still, Rust has proven he can be relied on, played 2nd line minutes and still was productive. Sheary isnt a NHL player and he got 3 mil. Rust will easily ask for 3-3.5 which hes worth that easily. we need to get rid of Hunwick and Sheary.

Tavares Signs with Pens Effect
so we give up our best dman, a 30-40 goal scorer and a proven vet for 2 unproven players, and 2 picks(which we dont need) for cap space just to sign Tavares? "if its not broke dont fix it", we dont need tavares, there no way he fits on the Penguins for more than 8 million or more.

not at all, even before Halls MVP caliber season this year, that trade was horrendous. never once made Larsson more valuable than Hall, maybe re read what i wrote, just saying that the Hall/Larsson trade was obviously a **** trade on Chirellis end, and then going and trading your #2 dman for some unproven prospects would basically end his GM career.

no way in hell we get Rust at 2.2, we gave Sheary 3 and hes garbage. also why spend another 4 mil on a dman? our top 4 is locked up, and resigning the big rig and another free agent is enough, not for 4 mil. with have to sign Guentzel and Sprong soon.

no way Pac goes straight up for OEL(their franchise). why would Pitt give up a guy they stole for a 4th liner with a **** contract? they dont need a pick. and youll have to give up more than that to get rid of Shaw. also why give 1.75 to a guy that only fights? and 7 million for a vet? this must be Bergevins account.

But Wierdcock isn't the main piece. He's the side-chick. If that.
Guentzal is the reason that I'm wary because his value has skyrocketed. Too much for Landy.
Basically a 1st line LW and a top-4 Dman for a 1st line LW.
Doesn't make sense to the Pens to overpay when they already have Guentzal right there.</div></div>
That's the price you pay for talent you know is top line. Guentzal is good but he's barely been in the NHL, so who knows if he'll definitely pan out.</div></div>
he's playing with the best player in the world...he made Pascal Dupuis a 50 point man, and Kunitz a 30 goal man. i think a young sponge like him will do be a good player, but nothing like he is with Crosby. not too much value, no way could he be a part to get Landy, he's played 20 games in the big league? let's not jump to conclusions.....he wont get much value.
