So 2023 first, Fraser, and Woll for Hart
2024 first, Robertson for Laughton
That's not too bad for the Flyers though they might be able to do better if they traded Hart and Laughton in separate deals.

There are plenty of ways to hit the cap floor. Then again, our GM did just give away $2m in cap space for the next two seasons. So, it's possible they want another tank commander goalie beyond the expiration of Mrazek's contract. But with all the goalies we have in our pipeline, I'm not sure they will want to create that 3 year roadblock for them.

Next year
Not far off. I would argue that the 2nd round pick shouldn't be included, but I can't imagine it would be a dealbreaker. Maybe an offsetting 3rd or 4th coming back from Arizona so LA isn't down a pick.
Also, the 1st needs to be top 2 protected. Not giving up a shot at Bedard in case the Kings pull a Montreal next season.

Weird pieces for the Flames to be giving up. I could see them maybe wanting Poirier and the first but Z and phillips are a bit odd. If u r adding Z for cap space you dont have to because weve banked cap space as the season has gone on and have about $4.5-$5mil that we can use at the deadline.

Personally, I'd do it... but Big Z has been playing better lately and I'm not sure Valimaki is ready - hasn't really found his spot in the Sutter system yet.

Yep, either Schwartz or Saad with Suter and we are good to go for the season.

Playoffs or Bust
I doubt a 3rd round pick is enough to dissuade Seattle from taking Clague. At this point, I'd just let the chips fall where they may with regards to the expansion draft.
I really like the Suter acquisition, but I think I'd probably pair him with Sean Walker instead. That would allow Mikey to continue to develop against top-level competition.
I can't see Brownie playing beside anyone other than Kopi for opening night. Maybe as the season goes on and he wears down, but I'd put money on him being on the top line to start.
Cal will be the starter over Quick this year.
Other than that, really solid job! I think this team could push for a playoff spot in the weak Pacific Division next year. Trying not to get overly excited by the thought of it.

LAK 21-22
I think the Kings lines would be closer to this:
Tucotte Kopitar Brown
Andersson Vilardi Frk
Kempe Byfield Carter
Moore Lizotte Wagner
Bjornfot Doughty
Anderson Walker
MacDermid/Clague Roy
Petersen
Quick
No need to throw Byfield in the fire when you have Vilardi and Kopitar. I believe Petersen could be the starter by this season. Kaliyev will need to play in the AHL that season IMO.
All that aside, its pretty close. Good job👍

Cap Relief
I think the best way to dump Eriksson would be to Detroit in a deal involving Demko/DiPietro since they need a young goalie. Then a 1st wouldn't have to be involved.

Hmm. Still like the idea, just a little less so. I'd tweak it just a bit. First, make the condition on the SCF as the better pick of the two first rounds. It's too early to bet TOR won't make the playoffs. Then, the condition on the "missing the playoffs/first round" should include just a bit more than a 2nd round pick, especially if there is retention. Maybe the 4th rounder as well or even Buffalo's 3rd rounder.
Other than that, fun idea. I'd forgo getting a prospect back if there was a chance the Kings could get a 1st round pick out of it.

I like the creativity. That NYR 2nd is likely to be a top 40 pick. That's a fair minimum value for TT. If the canes get to the cup final, the Kings may have two lottery picks :P

Toffoli to Avs
Any team that offers up a 1st for Toffoli will get him, late round or not. I could see LA offering Calgary's 4th in return to mitigate.
I think a 1st round pick for rental Toffoli is an overpayment though. Honestly, I don't think any of the rentals this year are worth a 1st round pick.

On TheAthletic today was written this concerning Toffoli and his deadline pricetag:
"<em>One executive said the expected asking price on Toffoli is a second-round pick and a prospect, which might make Toffoli more appealing for teams cringing at the idea of moving a first for a rental. “(It) is pretty reasonable,” he said. “They’ll get it.”</em>

It's a very deep draft and it looks like the Avs 1st might end up being a middle round pick. They could use like a RD prospect since they have basically just Timmins
if I'm right or maybe a winger. 2021 1st will also be closer valuewise
Edit: Besides Makar obviously. But they have just a few RHD

Quick to Blues
I don't think there is a market for Allen unless the team trading retains significant salary, includes a heavy sweetener, or takes back a cap dump in return.
However, due to the back-loaded nature of his contract, they could buy him out this summer without a significant cap hit in any given year.
Return for Quick seems reasonable considering they'd be giving the Blues an out on Allen's contract.

Quick to MIN Muzzin to MON Carter to CAR Kings Rebuild
I think Carolina would need to up the draft pick to a 2nd for the Carter trade, and Kaprisov would need to provide some verbal commitment to play in the NHL for the Minnesota trade. Aside from that, these are all reasonable trade proposals.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>edonutz</b></div><div>Martinez is vastly overrated, mostly because of the Stanley Cup GWG. We have 3-4 defenseman on the current roster who would all be improvements. Ladue, Walker, Carrier (in this case). I do think Mccaron has underperfomed but he's still young and skilled which the Kings need much more of. I can see if you think we can get a higher pick in return but I wouldn't expect much more than that.</div></div>
Fair enough, you may be right about Martinez but that applies the other way as well with McCarron and a 4th being vastly overrated also. McCarron is probably never making the NHL. He was built for pre last lockout hockey. At best he is a 4th liner who can fight, hit and maybe pot a goal every 20 games or so. The 4th is nice but nothing great so what is the incentive here?
Even if you don't think there is much value in Martinez, the rest of the league still does. So it will be up to them to pay up and find out if you are right.
