<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>epo</b></div><div>The Weber deal definitely factors in the contract. He's a great player, but even with some cap retained, he's on contract until he's 41, and for a physical defenseman who's dealt with injuries, that contract is gonna be brutal later on, like the Parise contract is right now.
I traded Petry because I figured they should go into full tank mode. They don't have enough talent coming up nor a good enough team to be a playoff-caliber team for a while. They might as well build around a young core and hold onto Price, because I doubt anyone would be willing to give up what he's worth.
I wasn't sure how valuable Heinen is to the Bruins, so I just threw in the cap-dump and the 2nd. Also, doubt the Habs trade with the Bruins lol.
The Plex deal probably was overpayment. I assume he's basically worth a 2nd, and taking on the salary of Hagelin was meant to raise it to a probable late first.
Only thing I don't agree with you on is the BUF trade. I think it's pretty fair - Buffalo gets a 1st and a cap dump in return for a player who desperately needs a change of scenery, a cap dump, and a mid-round pick. Maybe the Habs would add a 3rd or 2nd, but Reinhart has struggled recently.</div></div>

Fair enough. My take is centers are at a premium. Many teams looking for one, few selling. If Buffalo is willing to move Reinhart, disapointing as he has been they can do better than Alzner. He’s only 22. Carolina is desperate for center right now and loaded with talented young LD. They could match up nice.
