I know that it’s very unlikely to happen. I was just looking at what both team would look with that swap. Both team fill a need.

Why not! They’re the one who gave him that contract. And by the way if he retires before Nashville get to pay for it. And since Weber will only earn 1 millions in each of the last 3 season he very might be retiring before the end of that deal.

First of all you got this all wrong. I never sais that Byron contract wasn’t bad i said that it wasn’t that bad. I think i know what i was trying to explain in my own thread. And second of all team are simply not acquiring anybody. That the same around the league. All playoffs or battling playoffs team have almost no cap space so they simply cannot had anyplayers without giving back any salary. Get you fact right body.

Nobody have room under the cap. There a difference between not having enough money and not wanting a players. It’s not hard to understant that even making trade this year is hard to achieve due to all those team against the cap.

I know that but it’s not bad enough to justify giving a top prospect and i high draft pick. If Steve Mason 4+ millions contract cost Armia and a 4th rounder. That was more the purpose of this then to say that Byron is worth is contract, because he isn’t everyone know that.

I glad that you are that optimistic but the truth is that Colorado will have some really though decision to make in the next offseason. They need to sign a goalie and Makar will be set for a major raise. Landeskog is willing to take how much a of a paycut to stat in Colorado? At some point money will come in and that where thing get ugly. Maybe he will stay, maybe not.

Armia can play left wing, Toffoli play left wing Drouin Left wing. So Caufield can still enter the line up. I know its very hard to understand but the coach can modify the line up the way he want,

Sure, he might have a better shot than anyone currently on the team, but the NHL is a big adjustment, even for players taller than 5’7. Plus there’s the fact that to replace Tatar he’d need to play LW, which isn’t his natural position. And you haven’t even though of the chemistry Tatar has developed with Danault and Gallagher.
Also, Montréal could use a top-pairing LHD, but the last thing we need is another 3rd pairing LHD, especially if you’re thinking about the future. This trade makes us much worse in the present, and makes no difference in the future.</div></div>
Caufield step right in and will produced at least at the same pace then Tatar. I have watch him played over 50 game in the past 2 season and he is ready. Just the step he have took from early in the season and the last game saturday against michigan state is absolutely phenomenal. He also have produced at a historic rate in Ncaa scoring almost 1 goal per game. There not been much Players in the historie that have accomplish such in their 19 years old season.

HOw old are you ? because They once was buyers in the mid 00's when they had their cup run. The fact that they where not buyers in the past 10 season is a big factor why they haven't acquire rental players. you don't need to have a Degree in Science to understand that. Why would a team who miss the playoff would want to acquire a rental? But now they are legit contender so i expect the gm to fill the hole just like any good gm does.

Entry level contract end this year. they have a lot of other prospect ahead of him now and clearly no spot for him on the left side of their blue line. With Slavin, Gardiner, Fleury, Skjei he will probably ask out anytime soon since i do believes he is Nhl ready.

Carolina is in Win now mode and they will be buyers at the deadline. They are already stack on defence and at Center but could very use some scoring on the wing. Tatar is a 6 straight 20 goal scorer, people seem to forget that he is a very good hockey players. And that call rental player and it happen everysingle year team are weiling to spend to acquire missing pieces.

We need a left handed puck moving defenceman and Jake Bean is oustanding with the puck, but have some issue defensively. would be a great fit with Weber.
I have enough confidence in Caufield to match at least Tatar offensive production so Montreal is very fine with this actually. They will loose Tatar this summer in free agency so why not use him when he still have some value. Both team could benefits this trade.

Just because he is a Oilers prospect doesn't mean that you become a expert. I have watch him played all year long. How many game that you seen him played in Wisconsin?? Caufield already have a better shot then 90 % of the Nhl Staff. There propably only 15-20 players that have that king of release. And Caufield have been drafted to score goal, If he doesn't do that in the Nhl then he won't play that it. That doesn't make him a Top 9 forward that make absolutely no sense. Anyway yound sound ridiculous trying to justify yourself. if you want credibility then do little research before pretending that a 19 year old front runner Hober Baker award candidate is a top 9 prospect.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Nhl_oilers</b></div><div>Clearly you don’t know who Dylan Holloway is. He’s a very good prospect that has top 6 potential. Caufield is okay, however if Caufield isn’t producing goals, he isn’t doing anything. Holloway is a good grindy 2-way C/LW that is very good at defence as well as offence. Now there is snipers that can play good defence. Cole Perfetti, Jack Quinn etc. Look at the facts, and how players play before jumping down people’s throats.</div></div>
Dude i have been watching all the Badgers game this season and 20 of t heir game last year. I know more about Dylan Holloway then you. Yeah look at the fact before. You should have done that in the first place. YThat comment was probably a top five on the scale of moronest. Caufield is litteraly the best players in this year, you know what line is facing all the toughest matchup night after night. The Caufield line, Not the Holloway one. The fact are that Caufield is producing at a historical rate for a 19 years old players. And Mister decide that he is a top 9 prospect, And he told people to look at the facts. I would be a shame of my self.

this dude is a joke. Caufield is propably a top 5 prospect around the league at this moment. I was doiing some research at the NCAA level and Caufield is producing at a very rare rate for a 19 year old. In Fact all the 19 years old players that had over 1,5 ppg have had great Nhl Career. I couldn't found a single players that had this succes in Ncaa and that failed in Nhl.
