Personally as an Islanders fan I don’t like either of these trades. I agree they need to make a deadline move but I think a rental is the best move.

I disagree with that. Even with a rental Top 6 addition, no way we make it past Washington and Tampa this year. If we’re buyers at the TDL, I’d want to either dump a contract within the rental deal or add a player with some term.

Honestly I am not sure who with term would get us past Tampa. I would love to dump a contract during the deadline. If they don’t get rid of a contract I don’t want it to prevent signing the free agents.
