<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheGreatMistake</b></div><div>I don't see the Blackhawks going after Sanderson over a forward. The strength of the top-10 in this draft is at forward and I just don't think Sanderson brings enough offense to make up ground to be a top-10 pick.</div></div>
I can see your point. Chicago is in an awkward position because they are too good to be a bottom feeder, but not quite there to be a true contender. Kane and Toews still have a couple good years left, and guys like Strome, Debrincat and Dach are the new core for the hawks. I think the hawks are at a point where the forward depth is there, and although Holtz could be a fit, I'm not exactly sure they are in dire need of scoring wingers. I think Evan Barett and Beau Starrett have futures as depth pieces, along with Sikura, etc.. I get worried looking at that defense as trading Gustafsson for a 3rd rounder didn't seem like enough to me, with Keith aging, and Seabrook probably done, the hawks need that next physically big guy. Boqvist will be that elite power-play puck-mover, and I think Sanderson could be almost the perfect D partner for him, due to his elite two-way ability. Some might say Alex Vlasic is that from last year's 2nd round, but I have concerns about his skating to be able to play with such an offensive guy like Boqvist.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TanSor</b></div><div>Every time I see these mocks I have to wonder if Guerin might try to trade up. The Wild's biggest need by far is a #1 center and it seems like there won't be any available by the time we pick unless Rossi miraculously falls like Caufield did last year. I like Holtz a lot, but we are pretty stocked with young winger talent (Kaprizov, Beckman, Boldy in our system and Fiala in the NHL).</div></div>
First, I agree it is interesting to think that Guerin could move up. They have young assets, but I'm not sure who would come down. Rossi will not fall, I'm virtually certain and scouts would agree on that. I think Holtz is a very good get for Minnesota, but I understand the frustration in needing that true number one guy. I agree Minnesota has lots of young wingers in the pipeline, but aside from Kaprizov, I'm not sure that any of them are elite shooters who will score like Holtz. Boldy is a guy who can do everything really well but nothing is elite in his game. Also, Beckman is listed as a center on Elite Prospects, but I know that's always not the most accurate, so maybe Minnesota uses him in the middle.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>math731</b></div><div>MTL needed C depth two years ago... Now what we need is a top LHD or a top 6 winger... Sanderson or Holtz it is then.</div></div>
I agree the center depth issue is definitely lesser than it was when MTL took Kotkaniemi two years ago, however, I still think they lack that elite two-way center. I know I said he's a middle-six guy, but there's a chance he could develop into a very good number one center. I don't see Sanderson as a very good fit in Montreal and I'm not sure I can see Holtz either.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>papishark</b></div><div>Sharks aren't the team to reach for a position we don't need. Likely will take the BPA</div></div>
I think it's a valid point that SJS doesn't typically reach (unless you view Merkley as one, which I don't). Barron is a solid top-4 all-around defenseman, which on an aging team that has an older defense, I think with his seasoning time could arrive when they need it most in two years or so. I agree they could use a more prolific name, but as we saw with Merkley they are willing to take a risk on a dropping player, and I think Justin Barron is in a similar but much different situation.
