Laine
Yeah I don’t think cbj would be interested in this kind of an offer. Glass does nothing for us, Myers while young is still making a lot of mistakes and the second would at least need to be a first for us to consider.

goalie-go-round
Why would Columbus get in the middle of this and lose what looks like a top 10 pick from Chicago, and get a worse 1st from Edmonton to get a total of a 3rd and a 2nd and eating half of fleury’s contract? This sounds like horrid asset management from a Columbus stand point. Not to mention they are also taking on almost 3 times as much of a cap hit with rearing 3.5 of fleury and taking the whole 4.5 of Koskinen.
Also Kuemper has been better than Fleury and Koskinen has been better than Fleury, fliehen has been one of the worst goalies in the league this season.
So realistically Chicago gets a massive W in getting their 1st back and Edmonton gets a W for adding Kuemper, Colorado gets an L for the massive downgrade in net and Columbus get an L for taking 6+ mil in cap and down grading 1sts for a 2nd and a 3rd.
Goalie stats are goals saved above expected, this take into account goals given up and saved in high danger chances and low danger chances.
Kuemper: -1.4
Koskinen: -6.7
Fleury: -7.0
Korpisalo: -4.8
One is not like the others.

Trading laine
I’d be quite happy with that Laine package. Not sure ANA does that, though. Giving up McTavish feels like a big ask for them. Plus, we already have a glut of Forwards coming in, and making room for Jones will be difficult. I’d rather have a D, or a younger guy who can be kept in the AHL for a bit.
I’m interested in taking a flyer on Brannstrom, but I don’t think Rosy is going anywhere anytime soon. Hometown kid wants to be here, and for a rebuilding team that has a reputation of losing free agents, that is important to them.

Blue Jackets Lines
I honestly don’t know what to do with nyquist. Can’t play top 6 can’t play bottom line and doesn’t fit with the third line. At this point what do you do with him. He’s been frustrating all year long.

My ideal CBJ offseason
Personally I think we should keep Laine, he’s a goal scorer and we don’t have many that can score goals that easily. And with Bjorkstrand being buried and covered as the primary guy. he can’t get any room. So Laine adds that extra line which bumps Bjorkstrand down to priority 2. Frees him up to play like a top line player.
Unless Laine is asking for a ridiculous amount of money then that’s a new conversation.

Thread:
Best Case CBJ TDL
- I don't think Harrington or Kukan are moved. We need the RD depth, so would want to keep Kukan, and Harrington has next to no value, unfortunately.
- Unless Nyquist starts turning up his play big-time, I don't see him being moved until the off-season, simply because I doubt the market is there. I do think he can be a great M6 option for a contedner, and I'd be willing to retain 50% in exchange for a 2nd.
- CBJ took a calculated gamble holding onto Korpi for this season, hoping some team would run into injury problems or similar and would be willing to overpay for Korpi. Unless that happens, I see him as likely getting a 3rd for a team that is looking for some G insurance going into the playoffs.
- Don't see Hofmann being moved. He's played as a B6 guy, and has been impressed, all told. I see him being kept around on a one-year deal next season.
- Domi has, when he's been able to be on the ice, looked great. I could definitely see him being a T6 TDL option for a team, possibly getting a 1st if CBJ retain, which I would hope they do. I would prefer CBJ not try to retain him after this season, simply because we are about to hit a logjam of T6 talent, and we'll need the roster spots.
- Either at the TDL or in the offseason, Bemstrom/ Foudy/ Stenlund are likely moved, as part of a bigger package. Stenlund wasn't claimed on waivers so, if anything, I see him being non-tendered. Bems and Foudy are no longer waivers exempt starting next season, so a decision has to be made on their role with the team. Whoever gets squeezed out likely is traded.
All told, gonna be an interesting TDL. If the team is still competing, I could see Jarmo letting it ride, particularly if the CHI pick is still looking to be a Top-10 pick in the '22 draft. Highly doubt they give up assets for any rentals or short-term boosts; anything they pick up would likely have some long-term play for the team.

Bemstrom and Stenlund could be moved out too, they're both stuck behind better players in CBJ's player pool

Why would Zach stay there when Jones is leaving and the Blue Jackets are in turmoil? They came into the league the same year as Tampa 1993 i believe and Tampa is heading towards their 3rd cup here. And Columbus has yet to even come close to sniffing a cup.</div></div>
Columbus came into the league in 2000 with Minnesota. Sooo yeah....

CBJ Retool
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jb246810</b></div><div>I think Jarmo would chase a pick for Nash as we have moved a decent amount of picks the last couple years. Would probably need a little bit of overpay in a prospect, but Nash is a guy that is made for third or fourth line playoff hockey and would benefit a true contender. I'm not sold Jarmo moves him because I think he is playing a big role mentoring the young centers in Columbus.
I haven't followed bowers development, but from the draft I remember him sounding like a guy that Jarmo would bring into the system. Jackets need true centers, so if Jarmo thinks he fits that mold, I have to imagine he would listen.</div></div>
Nash is the sort of guy who teams circle back on after their other deadline targets fall through. So it would likely be a deal late on deadline day for whatever Jarmo can get. If he wants an asset for him then he'll have to take what's on the table. Or just keep him if he doesn't like it, but then they could lose him for nothing a month later.
