<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dontwhine2me</b></div><div>NY would too.... more futures is exactly what they dont need in NY.
NY is ready for players like Zib, in their prime and ready to win. WTF they gonna do with Rakell, he couldnt stand out and atleast score some points on one of the worst teams around, hes a cap dump at this point NOT THE MAIN PIECE IN TRADE FOR ZIB. GETHEPHUKOUTAHER NY should swap out a few young pieces to change the dynamic in the room. Room full of 19, 20, 21s are not making playoffs, much less advance.
A 2nd for Georgiev and Hajek?? They are asking for a low 1st (wont get) for Georgiev alone.
The deal for Eichel is still too much. Not that he wasnt once worth it.... but Buffalo has messed this up from step one. The only issue, shoe to drop, is for Sabres to realize they missed the boat. Eichel isnt coming back again, they know it, whole league knows it. Hes hurt and has questions about attitude/maturity. Hes been on block for over a year and they are yet to sniff an offer like they or their fans expect. Once Buffalo ' front office realizes the REAL SITUATION here... the deal will happen for maybe 3 1sts, depends on how high the prospect is AND how much salary are they eating.
THEY WILL NOT SNIFF ANY OFFER THAT HAS BEEN POSTED ON HERE BYE BUFFALO FANS.
I'm not saying he isnt worth it ( I question it) but the OFFERS ARE NOT THERE!!!
They cant make these teams clear out their prospect pool, take on a 10 mill cap hit for 5 years for a player with a neck injury AND HAS ATTITUDE/MATURITY questions.
Buffalo missed the boat.... last offseason was the window.
Now it will just be take what you can get.</div></div>

If the Rangers want Eichel, there's no way they will be able to resign Zibanejad AND give Fox the extension he deserves (9mil+ per) next summer when you also factor in the money that will be owed to Laf, Kakko, and Miller once those ELC's expire. If they acquire Eichel, they would have one season with both of them as their 1-2 Cs before being forced to let Zbad walk for nothing. This would give them a solid RW to fill the void left by Buch this season, and future assets. Danault gives them a much needed defensive presence up the middle at a more affordable rate. ~17M in cap space in 2022-23 will give them enough to retain Fox long term and give a bridge deal to Kakko, barring a huge breakout season by him.

Anaheim desperately needs a legitimate goal scorer on their roster (last in the league in goals for per game last year) and already have a wealth of talented young players. They've also been linked to Eichel so they're looking to make a splash for a big name player now. They have the cap space to give Zibanejad the large extension that will be coming his way. He's not as young as Eichel but would only cost them a fraction in return.

As for Georgiev, I'd be shocked if they received a first for him. Teams don't trade first round picks for backup goalies. Plus, goalie trades are difficult because the market dries up quickly. Hajek doesn't fit into the long term plans in NY and his value is at a low. He's clearly not the guy they thought he was when he came over in the McD trade. The 44th overall selection in this year's draft would be a solid return for both IMO.
