I probably should have worded my comment better i mean a gavrikov trade needs 50% retention for the oilers to have interest.

They want a 2nd for him but no one is interested. Unless the oilers let him go in a trade for next to nothing I think he’s non QOd bound</div></div>
He will probably be traded for a similar struggling young player so there’s a chance that the oilers can actually get some value out of trading jp.

I 100% agree with you. The oilers gotta start making some big moves if they wanna win the cup and chychrun is the perfect guy to trade for rn

Stop giving Nurse so much ice time
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mokumboi</b></div><div>Cmon, man. I agree that Nurse's mistake was pathetic, but it's just as pathetic for nobody to be anywhere near the all-star sniper camped out right in front of goal. Nurse was truly terrible on the play, and he wasn't alone in that.</div></div>
As i said before tarasenko was the guy nurse was supposed to be covering, at the end of day he turned it over himself and couldn’t get back into position to cover his man. Unless his teammates did something ridiculous there was no to stop that. Perhaps someone could have tried to cover for nurse but it all happened so fast it was just too late. The loss isn’t 100% nurses fault as there was a case were shore and barrie both missed golden opportunities but i can confidently say that the gtg is nurses fault.

Back to the front of the net i mean to stop tarasenko.
Also i know its not an excuse but i think u also know that a 9 million dollar defensemen can’t be making mistakes like this and that tarasenko was actually nurses man and not the other player’s responsibility. That gtg is 99.99% nurse’s fault. Their is little that could have been done by his teammates.

TOL sim
- Even with retention I wouldn’t do that for bo horvat as he would most likely be a rental and forwards aren’t a main concern for us rn.
- As for the chychrun deal maybe drop the second to a third but other than that it seems very fair and I would probably accept that deal if i was the oilers.
- Also u titled the acgm “deadline” so i assume that these tdl deals. That being said we can’t buy out players at the tdl only in the offseason. Therefore these trades wouldn’t be possible as campbell and nurses contracts would still be eating up cap space.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mokumboi</b></div><div>That gaffe tonight was brutal. But to be totally fair, there's also no way Tarasenko should have been sitting that wide open in the near slot. Lots of blame to go around on that one.</div></div>
The rest of the team probably wasn’t expecting such a horrid turnover so they were caught off guard and couldn’t get back in time.

This yet another reason why the oilers should target jakob chychrun. Nurse can’t be playing these minutes but we have no other defenseman on the left side who can play that large of a role. With chychrun when nurse is playing poorly he can take over his duties and put up strong results.

As we have seen tonight nurse is a huge defensive liability and i think its time we stop playing him big minutes. He simply has not played to the standards that a no 1 dman is held too. Perhaps we could spread out the ice time among all of our dmen or we could try bouch in a role similar to nurses.

We need chychrun
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>Sure, Foegele's salary isn't that much compared to the cap space that Arizona has. But it *is* quite a bit compared to what Edmonton has - they'd have to knock at least 2 guys off this current roster to accommodate his $2.75M hit this year.
You're also sending back two guys with an additional year at the same hit, so technically Arizona is eating $14.5M over the next 2 seasons for you. Not only that, but both Foegele($6.15M) and Barrie ($9.5M) are owed more in actual money over this year & next than their cap hits - typically the exact opposite of the type of dumps that Arizona targets. If 1 year of Sean Monahan at $6.375M cost Calgary a 1st rounder, I don't see how 2 years of $7.25M is only gonna cost Edmonton a 2nd.
And even beyond that - if you're including that 2024 2nd as compensation for the cap you're dumping on Arizona, that makes the heart of your offer for Chychrun a '23 1st and Broberg. I just don't think that by itself would be enough for Arizona, and that's before you pile on the negative value of the cap you're unloading on them.</div></div>
Fair enough if ur valuation of chychrun is different than mine but I believe that this trade would be enough.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>IDKtbh</b></div><div>You’re not getting Chychrun for that. It isn’t a matter of can Arizona fit the salaries under their cap. It’s a matter of actual dollars being spent. Arizona is not going to spend money on contracts they get back just to sit on them.
Move on from the thought of Chychrun if this is what you think is reasonable.</div></div>
Thats why the second round pick is included to dump barrie and I am willing to include a third to dump fogele its not like i am just including these guys without providing the yotes with picks to take them.
