Boring but probable outcome
I see MTL doing nothing before the start of the season. I would like them to try to move a winger and a 2nd for another 1st in an attempt to get Lapierre and Poirier.

Carlo is Group 2 I believe as he played 10 or more games in each of his 3 ELC years(maybe not first year?). McAvoy is totally different, not even a RFA. He is a 10.2 FA as he never played in 10 games in his 3 ELC years. Is this correct?

Playoff bound
Weal will be forth line center, unless he blows it in training. Cousins will play before Hudon. Hard to move Koko to the wing, he played much better at center. MTL has good talent and could afford to move a winger. Danualt will be 1st center with Gally and Tatar/Drouin, same as last year.

Backes Dump
I believe 2 years for Carlo takes him to 5 years and UFA status, I might be wrong. I see McAvoy getting 2 years bridge around 6m to improve numbers to get that 7.25m. Backes did bring 30+pts on the 3rd line last year, I don't think there willing to give up a 1st to get rid of him.

I thought the trade was tight and considered a defence prospect instead of Killer. I think EDM would trade the first to become better now. Heinen brings 40pts+ on third line, for a good cap hit and would be their best defensive forward right away. I thought I was underpaying Carlo by around 500-750k. I think a bridge at 6.25m + or - 500k was reasonable for McAvoy. Can't see him taking less the 5.75m.

I figured the deals were around +/- 500k?

Heinen and a slightly injury prone Killer should fetch a prospect and a high 1st with a small cap dump, or have I over/under valued?

I do see your point, but does the trade diminish the team enough to not be a contender? Heinen is very good at both ends of the ice, Killer when healthy is also solid, but Bruins are deep in wing prospects. Are Stud, Jfk, Fred, or Beecher potential #1 centers?

I would just like to see a bit more of a Canadian element to the team. Since Sweeney has taken over he has went with a larger percentage of Americans and the last couple times the Bruins went to the finals and lost they played teams with a higher percentage of Canadians. I wish they would just get Krejci someone for the right side, really anyone at this point.

Predicting the Future
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jiannuccilli</b></div><div>Sounds like you had a stroke writing this. You develop players by starting them off in the AHL first and slotting them into the lineup as players age and leave. You don’t trade a very effective player for the sake of playing a player who is not NHL ready. That would be a first class ticket to getting fired. While you’re at it, how about you trade Bergeron and pastrnak so that Studnicka and Steen can develop.</div></div>
Nice stroke comment, Son. Shows your age. So does your comment. I compared people of equal talent, you took 2 of the best players and compared them to people that will never equal them. Cehlarik put up better numbers then Heinen in AHL hockey, in possession and points. I hope you understand comparing Bergeron to Studnicka and comparing Heinen to the 3 I did is nothing similar. You need to follow the careers of these players and stats. Maybe watch some OHL, AHL, and NCAA hockey. Watching 30-40 games a year has you making comments like you have.

How do you think he got his slot on the team, because turnover. That's how you find late draft talent. Believe me I'am solidly more informed in all aspects then yourself. Obviously you have no idea how to develop players. If you kept finding middle six players and holding onto them you wouldn't do well.

Not dumb, business. Trying to underpay the best defensive defense men they have, that's dumb and insulting. Their best defense prospect has heart issues, Krug is terrible in his own end, and Chara is 41. Give the Kid his dues he has played since the second year of his draft, if its a bridge deal minimum 3.5m please. Chairot just got 3.5m and Myers got 6m. On a bridge Carlo is 3.5, long term 1m more as it would take him into his prime. Keeping players happy is how you get team friendly deals like Bruins whole top line..

Heinen is good and have always liked him but he does need to be traded, he was a 4th and can now be turned into a 2nd. There are a few guys ready to take that spot, that can be just as good if not better then him, Bjork, Cehlarik, and Lauko are all NHL ready and need that spot.

If I was Carlo and Bruins offered me 2.25m I would take and then a arbitration deal and then leave as a free agent, because 2.25m is a insult. He was the only defence men that didn't make my cheeks clench when he was out there.

That's like saying Kappenin or Johannson for the leafs. Or Bjork and Cehelrik are busts for the Bruins. He has equaled their PPG's in AHL. His corsi and possession stats are good, every indication he will be a middle six player. Watch a few games and play a bit you'll learn the game ;)

That second line center is better than anything even developing in the Wild line up, by a large margin. Yamamoto is a 1st round pic and a high level prospect, again would be top 5 in Wild prospects. If the Wild continue to give contract to these old guys and not turn over any talent for solid prospects the will continually fall middle of the pack. Spurgeon has a year left and is healthy turn into something and resign him in free agency if he truly wants to be there, but losing him for nothing is not a option.

Muzzin is not near as good as Petry, but MTL will be in a wild card spot all year so I don't see much from them. I do see them moving a Lw if Poehling and Koko have good years. Getting Gallagher
I think they'd be better off trading a center prospect like Suzuki or Domi, cause like you said in 2 years they will be center heavy. Plus the next 2 drafts are deeper then have been in years. Mtl will get a #1 defender off Nashville for convincing Webber to stay when he is is gong to retire a year or 2 early.

Mini Rebuild
I thought about a #1 center, but with the return of a Zucker and a rental Spurgeon you would be looking at someone in the 26-29 year old range and I think they would be better off with Marody who would be a #2 center, Pulj (who is a risk) and the 1st. Which makes the team younger and 3 picks in the first round a DEEP draft class.
