Usually your trades are pretty on point in my eyes, but gotta say the Hawks trade is a real bad one. That's selling awfully low on White, and also looks really bad on Ottawa to move him out right after signing. Would never happen. He had a slow start to the year due to injuries and a massive change in responsibility and linemates under DJ but picked it up and was on fire at the end. He's poised for a bounceback and should not be traded in a bad package like that at this point. When he and Batherson were paired together to finish the year, they both looked like completely different players. I'm not worried. Plus, Nylander isn't good enough to play on that top line.
Also, Rossi would be a bad pick at 5. He doesn't project well as a center and would probably end up as a winger if he makes it at all, he isn't NHL ready yet, there are simply better players available, and he will likely go in the latter half of the top 10 (as he should). He's a dangerous pick for whomever takes him, so luckily the Sens won't be the idiots that do it. Luckily they've been linked to Raymond, yay!

He'll be a much better player on the Hawks. If I'm the guy that rips on Andreas Johnsson, Zach Kassian, and Anisimov because they're stats are inflated because of their line mates....I AM THAT GUY. Then I think we need to consider the opposite too. This guy is going to be in his prime soon and still locked up for $4.75M. I'd do this deal and FAST.</div></div>
yeah he looked real good with Stone and even with Kane for Team USA. Hes not a play driver but he can put up points quite well playing with skilled guys

Lafreniere is not McDavid/Matthews/Crosby/MacKinnon etc. He is a very very good LW. The folks at dobberprospects have him at 7th in the last 16 1OAs
Mid to late firsts are still very good picks. They are terrific trade tools to dump bad cap or bring in certain talent.
5OA + Logan Brown + Four firsts. That is a six 1st value, + cap dump.

Its incredible how on Capfriendly 1st round picks are both impossible to pry away from teams and yet worthless
Last year people were betting to see TOR/PIT and SJ all in the 20s, look where they are. League parity is great, and all it takes is one ****up and the trade is huge.
Even then, ~20s are great players, or they are chips to acquire great players. NYR could dump any and all bad contracts, and still have 4 1sts in the next 2 years.

Are you expecting Laf to be a 100 point player or something? Because if you are you may want to temper those expectations

It'll never happen, but when fans make offers for 1st overall I just have to scratch the itch that is a deal (or starter package) NYR would accept or atleast slightly consider</div></div>

think about it this way... #1 d man, #1 centre and a #1 winger/d man for a possible top 4 d man eventually, a late first, and a #1 winger...

yeah i dont think so. I think the Rangers take 3, 5 and run if Ottawa offered that. Stutzle/Byfield and Raymond is an absurd overpay. Laf isnt Shane Wright/Mackinnon/McDavid level

Why are we giving up two good prospects, a 1st, and taking a cap dump for a decent RW and goalie? Not a fan of losing 3 good assets here. I’d rather trade like a 2nd for Georgiev and Smith/Staal, Buchnevich isn’t a can’t miss guy.
