playoff team no ELCs
probably goes all the way!
it would definitely go all the way if you put Sid instead of Leon!!

The way I see it is they went for toughness instead of adding top guys because they want to have a lot of youth in the lineup and want guys to protect them. I just wanted them to go all in on the youngsters and looks like they will be doing exactly that

I'd be shocked if they let that many of the kids play, but, looking at this line up the only comment I will make is to swap Nick Paul and Chlapik.
Nick Paul is quite good at face-offs and Chlapik is NOT. But I like that 4th line.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sens_puck</b></div><div>Depends how much they value L Brown. IMO he is worth far more than a 2nd+3rd. TB benefits because he can step in for them at centre with another year on his ELC + they can likely bridge him for a fairly low amount after that.</div></div>
Brown is a valuable asset for sure, and especially for Tampa, bringing size and skill down the middle while still on an ELC. I still think they would reasonably ask for more, and it's still worth it to Ottawa. The other option for getting Cirelli would be an offer sheet, which would have Ottawa giving up their own 2021 1st which is a non option. You might have to pay a little bit more to avoid that.

Morgan Rielly will probably make it over Morrissey, and Petrangelo over Weber, despite the great season hes having, the dude is old and wont hold up against waves of all stars.

Though Cam Fowler holds dual citizenship, Born in Windsor, Ontario Canada and growing up in Farmington Hill, Michigan. He's always played for Team USA not Team Canada. And i doubt he starts now.

I think Marner might make it- he's not necessarily better or worse than some of the wingers on there, but the Tavares chemistry is already there. I also don't know if hall cracks the roster

Too many center prospects already: Jost, Kerfoot, Kaut. All have a chance to still be that #2 guy. Only way they would have gone center was for Hughes. Now that he is most likely out of the picture, will probably go byram.

That's another good point. lol Maybe he does sign in Colombus

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ThatGuy</b></div><div>Lol can't see CBJ signing Duchene. Especially if they're losing their top 2 players to FA. I think there's a better chance of CBJ missing the playoffs, and winning the 2019 lottery and then deferring the Sens pick to 2020. hahahaa
But I can realistically see San Jose sucking next year!! Half their team are in their mid-30s, they have no prospects coming up, they're slow, Jones is a liability and Karlsson isn't returning.</div></div>
one could make the argument that potentially losing Panarin would make them more likely to be really aggressive in attempting to sign Duchene.

Derriere for Lafraniere
An easy way for Ottawa to chew up cap space would be to throw some money at Varlamov. Anderson is getting older and a young team will go nowhere without a solid goalie down the road

Thoughts on trade with EDM
The deal adds pieces that both teams want/need but for some reason, I just feel like it's a weird deal. Maybe if Bobby Ryan went to EDM too (obviously deal structure needs to change a bit) it could be even better. But i don't know what i'm talking about. I just feel bad for McDavid and would like them to get more wingers to play with him

Thoughts on trade with EDM
I think Ottawa should go around the league and collect bad contracts as long as there’s a decent pick or a change of Scenery involved, and build for year two or three of chabot and Tkachuk massive extensions when eligible so kind of a 4/5 year plan, when Lucic and Ryan money off the books

If the pick is top 10 protected then the deal is even because of lucic going back otherwise edmonton wont risk it being where they are in the standings but they will be getting the depth they so badly need.

Full Rebuild - 1
very true. I think Hague would be more likely to be involved in a trade. Brannstrom will be their franchise defenseman. ik they have Theodore and Schmidt, but Brannstrom has the potential to be a left handed Erik Karlsson
