Who Needs Sleep
IMO we still need a center with like 2-3 contract. Bystedt will prollly simmer a little although maybe he breaks out and cooch is perma hurt. I would go for someone who is a litttle over paid and try to get a pick too not through FA.
Now that we got celebrini i think smith turns pro, but if he has a bad international run then maybe not.
Graf for sure will be on the AHL next year unless he puts on a ton of muscle. His cup of tea in the NHL went aight but I think he would benefit from the Cuda, cardsy could make it up though.
Musty cant play on the Cuda yet, and Edstrom is staying one more year i thought?

Smart Askarov trade. I'm down. Hadn't thought of that before. Alternatively, how about the #14 pick for Gilroy's Wolf?
Celebrini opens up so many posibilities.</div></div>
I dont mind spending one of our future firsts to get a guy that is good or more developed now tbh, was just going through trades that could happen<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DenisPotvin</b></div><div>No interest in Askarov at this stage of the rebuild. Why would we want a young incredible goalie who is waiting behind saros for a shot? He makes perfect sense but I think Nash would have to come down on their price again. I think pageau would be a good ish fit, he’s just slightly overpaid.

Yeah it’s a bit of a weird situation I think. Most teams trading for goalies are contenders or wanna be’s so they would want to give futures to make the team better now. But Nashville is holding out for NHL’ers and good ones, which would have to come from teams that dont want to contend, but they dont have any good players …

That being said, most reports I’ve read have him more as a good 3C at his ceiling as opposed someone who could be a top six forward, although maybe he has an outside shot at become a 2c

I just found it to be interesting, but it also only makes sense if saros resigns -> i could see them getting a nice package to trade him and give askarov his shot finally

Why do the sharks also give up a third? Aren’t all the players returning to us cap neutral or cap dumps?

Brother I didn’t demand anything. The lines are split more evenly based on experience. I didn’t want to put guschin with smith or celebrini, and the sharks are really really really really bad. If Detroit doesnt need the cap space then the sharks can just find a different trade of this ilk or try to get duclair back.
It always had more to do with how god awful we are than how ‘good’ fabbri is

Benning is paid too much for a 6/7D.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lancebmx</b></div><div>Winnipeg doesn't need more forwards. They have enough as it is. Pionk isn't a cap dump. He was outmatched against Colorado but he's still an effective second pairing defenseman. This trade doesn't make sense for Winnipeg.
I would be surprised if Fabbri cost that much to dump. Could probably retain and get positive value for him.</div></div>
The fluke year for granny was in Pittsburgh. There was plenty of reported interest but the sharks chose to take the hertl contract off their books with their last retention slot. Figuring out 1.5 years with third party retention is tricky at the deadline. I would imagine he gets moved this year unless he displays real leadership for the kids and we keep him around. Idk if fabbri is the type of player the sharks want i just see the trade a lot on here.
Lance thank you for filling me in. I spaced on the Monahan deal so if youre set for forwards then for sure this doesnt make sense.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RecycleShark</b></div><div>First saw the Kostin for Ceci trade idea in a post from an Oiler's fan. It had the Sharks retaining on Kostin, which they can't do as they have no retention spots left. I read a lot of Oiler fans complaining about Ceci. He'd still be an upgrade for the Sharks. Thought I could get him on the cheap since Edmonton fans seem to love Kostin and hate Ceci, but maybe that was a real Klim Shady deal. How about Ceci for a 3rd?</div></div>
I mean Ceci has pretty regular numbers, he’s marginally positive on the ice on a stacked team. He would probably be one or two best dman on the sharks but he’s like marginal improvement on Ruuta IMO. I think there is a good chance Emberson would do as good in the role if he stays healthy. He’s not someone that really moves the needle and is paid appropriately. Kostin if we can mold him into a depth scorer / real middle six player is more valuable.

He did about as good as he could with our D-core, but there are still a lot of rookie mistakes. I also think his play was a little ‘ahead’ of some of our roster because they are scared of the puck. It’s hard to judge but id give him like a 6.5/7 out of 10 as in slightly above average rookie

Orlov does nothing for them plus they have no more retention slots to try and move him for the most value. JK they just don’t need, he needs to be surrounded by stronger players to potentially blossom, he won’t progress playing in San Jose next to middle 6ers</div></div>
I think the bones of a trade are there, SJ definitely needs someone that can moonlight as a top pairing dman better than Ferraro. However I think the gap between Ferraro and Orlov is far far far smaller than the gap between Sturm and JK whose contract is a giant gamble although it he has (i think) a decent buy out. I’d still want a pick or prospect coming back

I get that. IMO Sturm is worth a third, so if we took out Fabbri (who i also thought was neutral asset at best but wings could better spend the cap my b) and the fourth. Would you do holl and second for Sturm?
Then the instead of holl being an expensive dump he is essentially trading up 1 round to dump him and then Sturm for the “third”

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aedoran</b></div><div>Holl's buyout is cheap Detroit buys him out before paying to move him.
Fabbri had 18g - 14a - 32p in 68 games while averaging just under 13 minutes a game.
Only Zetterlund had more goals with 24g. He played 82 games and averaged just under 19 minutes a game.
Along with Zetterlund, Eklund and Granlund had more points but they had a lot more ice time.
He is probably borderline neutral to some teams but SJS isn't one of them. Fabbri would make SJS a better team without a doubt.
I'm not saying SJS should take this deal but Fabbri is quite easily better than Sturm.</div></div>
I will only say that Sturm is a more important player for the sharks than fabbri would ever be. Why does fabbri only get 13 minutes a night? Are there just other players ahead of him?
