If couture is out

What would that 4th round pick have to be then?

SJS trade suggestions?

I do think Duchene would be a fit and much cheaper than Kessel. But I agree ship out Ward Hansen, hopefully Boedker for picks/prospects and maybe try to make a splash in free agency with extra cap room. Depends if we are going for rebuild on the fly which is trying to stay competitive this year, or if it looks more like a traditional rebuild where we miss the playoffs the next few years</div></div>
yes
I think Dough Wilson is the kind of guy who won´t trade stars of the team (Couture, Burns, Pavelski, Vlasic, Jones) especially when 3 of them have new contracts (i wonder how situation around Pavelski and Couture turns out, because they have both 2 years left and they can be great additions for every cup contender but our offense would be terrible without those two). Signing Thornton meant for me that we want to try another cup run, but not signing any UFAs (well Bollig, what a joke if we want to reach playoffs) looks like we are either making room for next season UFAs (Tavares please) or we will try something during season and especially on Trade deadline. I think we have some good prospects, just let them play</div></div>
Yes I really want Tavares i think if we keep things the same and essentially replace Thornton with Tavares next year we are in good shape with the same core and plenty of young talent who can hopefully end up as depth scoring.
My worry is that you know what you're getting consistently game in game out from Burns, Pavs, Couture, but beyond that it's a lot of question marks.

He is not the right guy for me.. yes he can help us move to playoffs but not any further, unlike Kessel... I would do trades which would give us at least chance to get to conference finals (which is almost impossible) or trades that would get us as many prospects and picks as possible (which I would prefer). Get rid of Hansen, Martin, Ward, Braun, Thornton (sad but it is time to move on, i don´t expect much from him after the knee injury), Boedker (but who would want him with his salary) and let youngsters play.</div></div>
