Now lets see how this shakes out
Not going to waste a buyout on Hank. He can still play and he'll be back to mentor Shesterkin. Already have 7 mil on buyouts, after next season, 18.5 mil will free up with Hank, Smith and Staal off the books. I don't see them doing another buyout. Can see a trade including Deangelo with Smith attached to it, despite the international Dmen won't be ready day 1 on Broadway, mid to late season call up. Kravtsov 100% starts next season.

Next Year
Krug? I don't see them signing a defenseman long term with exception of Deangelo, unless they trade him. A lot of depth coming up at D. Mittelstadt trade is interesting though, but Kakko isn't moving to the left side.

Is Shattenkirk expected to be bought out

I really think signing Nylander handcuffed the team and killed momentum last year. I'm curious if teams were afraid to approach Toronto to see what the asking price for Nylander would've been. They should've somehow traded him, and keep building with what they had.

No way Marner is below 10 mil. He'll want 11 like JT and Matthews

Based off AAV. So all 1sts. And forgot about Fox's conditional pick for 2020

Offseason to end the Draught

Then does that mean Dahlin eventually moves to RD?
Realistically I can see buffalo taking Caufield. Him and Eichel would be a good combo (looking past the defensive problems)

True. But years 4/5-7 are worrisome. Don't know what you're going to get once he's over 30 and getting top dollar while kakko, Miller, shestyorkin, etc are out of their entry contracts and need to get paid. That's why I like trying to go after Point. 3 late 1st rounders (and 2020 possibly in the middle) would be worth it when they make a push. And locking down 1C and giving mika 2C makes the team a whole lot better.

Obviously overlooked it. I can see Bryam somehow dropping to 5. Hawks are kinda ok at depth with LDs, Colorado could take Dach, have an awesome 1C 2C tandem in a couple years.
Weirder things have happened so anything's possible. Would mean giving up less too.

I'm kinda glad the Rangers dont have the decision to choose either of them, just who isnt drafted by the Devils. But I've been favoring Kakko more. I like his size and uses his body to protect the puck, Rangers could use a potential elite center, but Hughes size worries me a bit, but that's just me. Get Kakko and offer sheet Point. Can live without Panarin too.

Your trades are interesting. And actually pretty fare. A 1st to eat okposos contract is a lot. Dont Think you have the right team though. Arizona is kinda trying to do the right thing. Can see Ottawa doing it, to make the minimum though.

I meant at the time of posting. But it is exciting on what they are doing, and doing it correct for once. Although it can't be this good Friday can it? Gorton goes off the deep end and passes on Kakko?

It's 1am, Can't sleep and didn't feel like thinking too hard about possible suitors for trades. In reality, I cant see deangelo staying past the 19-20 season, if the young guns progress. Lot of depth there the next few years. Can see him traded for a late pick near trade deadline.
I'd rather trade them too, but kreider is more valuable. Would hope the fire stays lit under buch (who I didn't sign). But cant see him staying long if he keeps getting benched to get reminded how to play.
