Stars are going to have to pay a team to take Faksa

- Dallas declines the Gurianov trade

Gurianov already has a fresh start with Dallas firing Bowness. He was one of the most mis-utilized players in the NHL last year and that should all change this season, regardless of who gets brought in as head coach

- Carolina declines the DeAngelo trade

There's zero value going to Carolina. For a guy that just had arguably the best season of his career (and is entering his prime), Carolina is going to want the kind of return that a young top-4 defenseman should get</div></div>

I agree with stars are probably going to have to pay a team to take Faksa, this one was the most far fetched one in my mind.

I don't like Gurianov, have wanted him out of dallas for three years. He will not be productive. I'd trade him for a bag of pucks if I could. Right now he is just taking up a spot of a cheaper young guy.

My thought on the DeAngelo thing is Carolina would opt for Klingberg over DeAngelo. They have been the team always linked some way to him in the regular season... Maybe the way DeAngelo played down the stretch changes their mind which it definitely could and I would argue it should (DeAngelo is younger and will be cheaper than Klingberg). I couldn't figure out how to show this but in my scenario above, Carolina signs Klingberg and trade the RFA rights to DeAngelo away for a 5th because they can no longer afford to keep him, so in essence its a Klingberg for DeAngelo trade.
